Purchased 1P3 and Need 1P4
Good Day
My work just upgraded to Mac OS 10.8.5
Now 1P3 does not work, it is not one of the supported developers. But 1P4 works just fine.
At home 1P3 works fine, I am not running Yos right now.
The site says 1P4 is $25 same price as 1P5
Thanks Brian

Hi Brian ( @PerryDawsey ),
Thanks for taking the time to write in! I'm glad to hear that 1Password 4 is working well for you. To license 1Password 4, you'll want to purchase an upgrade to 1Password 5. The license file for 1Password 5 will work just fine in 1Password 4, with the added bonus that, when you do decide to update to Yosemite, you'll have a lovely upgrade to 1Password waiting for you as well!
I hope this helps, but we're here if you have any further questions or concerns.

1PW3 should work, but the first time you use it you have to start in a slightly different way.
Right-click on 1PW. Choose the option "Open" and you will get a dialog box saying it is not from a supported developer that will ask if you want to open anyway. Once you open it from the dialog box all will be fine.
At least, this is how my memory of how one can open programs not from a supported developer works, though I may have the details slightly wrong.
1PW3 came out before there was a notion of "supported developer", which is why you get this problem in 1PW3 but not in 4 or 5.

@danco is correct, 1Password 3 will still work, it even works in Yosemite. Now of course we have stopped active development of 1Password 3 so as newer versions of OS X are released the possibility of incompatibility do increase. If you were to purchase a 1Password 5 licence (using your 1Password 3 licence key to obtain a discount) then you can use 1Password 4 on your Mountain Lion machine now and if you upgrade to Yosemite at any point in the future you can upgrade to 1Password 5 at no cost because you did actually purchase a 1Password 5 licence.
I hope that helps but if you have any further questions do please ask
