Upgraded from 3 to 5 and all the logins were not transferred.

Super happy with iPassword 3 and have used it for ever. Just upgraded to an iPhone 6 from a 4S that worked perfect with the latest IOS with 1Password 3, the iP6 would not sync with 1Password 3, so upgraded to 1Password 5. 5 is working but it did not get all of the 3 logins. Is a "Start Over" the best thing? In Start Over is it best to just delete every thing from 5, the Vault etc... and the app and then restart the 5 upgrade process from the downloaded zip file. Yosemite 10.10.1. SSD MacBook Pro with 8GB Ram. Thanks for your help.

    Hi @Lyle,

I'm sorry to hear some Logins aren't showing up in 1Password 5 on your Mac!

I don't think you need to completely reset the 1Password 5 app (at least, not yet). There might be easier ways to get all your data into version 5. Do you still have 1Password 3 installed on your Mac, and does it still have all your Logins? If so, and if it isn't currently syncing with Dropbox, you can set up Dropbox sync in version 3, and once the sync completes, set up Dropbox sync in version 5 to get all the data.

Alternately, you can use a backup file from 1Password 3 to migrate the data to version 5. First, follow these steps to get one of the backup files from version 3:

    • Open 1Password 3 and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences
    • Select the Backup tab
    • Right-click somewhere in the Backup Folder file path and choose Show In Finder
    • Open the Backups folder, then copy the most recent backup file to the Desktop

The backup file from 1Password 3 should have a name like "1Password_DATE_FORMAT.agilekeychain_zip" (where DATE_FORMAT would be the date the backup was made). To use that file to restore your data in 1Password 5, follow these steps:

    • Rename the backup file on the Desktop to: 1Password.agilekeychain.zip
    • Double-click that file to unzip it, and it will now be named 1Password.agilekeychain
    • Open 1Password 5 and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences
    • Select Sync > Folder and then choose the 1Password.agilekeychain file from the Desktop

You should now have all your data in 1Password 5. Please let us know how it all goes and if you have any questions. Thanks!
