1Password New Software field names no longer localized?

Hi all,

I wanted to create a new entry in my Software Licenses for the LaunchBar 6 upgrade I purchased this morning, so I dragged a copy of the LB6 app onto the Software Licenses list and selected the "New" button (yes, I know I could update my existing LB5 entry, but I'd rather keep individual entries for historical purposes).

Comparing the form I get to fill for the new LB6 entry against the one I had for LB5, I noticed all the field names appear in English (I'm running the French version), while all the field names in the LB5 entries are properly localized as can be seen in the attached screenshots.

New entry form for LaunchBar

Existing entry for LaunchBar 5

Not only that, but notice also how the French field names are properly capitalized, while the English field names are all lowercased.

Going through the list, I see that most entries have the uppercased / French field names, but a few entries (apparently the most recent ones) have the lowercased / English field names, so it looks like this might be a recent regression?

I'm not from AgileBits, but the translations are mostly handled by the community and I'm one of the translators (in Swedish though, not French) so I think I can answer some of your questions.

About the capitalization, they are supposed to be in lowercase in both English and French. Simply because it looks better, like iPhone looks better than Iphone or IPhone. I guess you could say it creates symmetry. Perhaps AgileBits got this idea from Apple, who uses it in their own Contacts app:

    English:

    French:

I have seen this design idea in other places too, and I think it makes sense. Of course, some languages may have rules that override this design. I believe German nouns are always capitalized, for example. But French doesn't seem to do that.

Now, about the actual translations. That looks like a bug. If you visit the translation project:

    https://crowdin.com/project/1password-for-ios-and-osx

you can see that French is 100 % translated, including strings like Licence de logiciel, clé de licence and page de téléchargement. For some reason those translations have not been pushed to the actual application, or there is a problem on your end. Hopefully someone from AgileBits can help you with the technical details, I can only tell you that the bug doesn't exist in my copy of 1Password.

    Hi @etrep‌

I believe we are still working on incorporating all of the amazing work done in Crowdin via our dedicated fans. This isn't an area I know a lot about at the moment but I know others have asked about the English (UK) translation and the response was the same, that we're working on it.
