Question about License with Mac and Windows bundle...

Hello,
I am thinking of Purchasing the Mac/windows bundle because I use both a Mac and a PC at work. However, I also have another Mac at home, which would bring my total of installs to three (2 Mac, 1PC). Is this possible with the Mac/Windows Bundle? In other words, would the Mac portion of the bundle still come from the app store allowing me to install on 6 other macs or would it be a single license for that Mac only?

The Mac-Windows bundle is sold only from the AgileBits web store. I say this only because of your reference to the app store, which could possibly mean Apple's.

Your Mac license specifies how many different users can install it. You can install it under your license on all the Mac you use yourself. Even if the license were for just one person, that person can use it on all of his/her Macs. But as you note, the single user license also permits installation by as many as six family members in the same household, each being allowed to install it on all their Macs.

Thanks, I think that answered my question. I do have another question though, I would prefer to buy this from the Mac App Store, however, I do use a windows machine at work. I never need to add logins on the windows side though, and currently (for a while) I have been using the demo version, what are any other limitations the demo version would have? If any? If I purchcased this through the Mac App store, I could add logins via IOS (which I already have), and Mac and then just use them on the demo windows version to be able to simply login right?

  • Hi @jazzmsngr‌,

If you aren't doing any editing on Windows, then you would likely be able to get away without a license there, and still be able to login from the PC.

I don't know what happens when an expired trial version is synced to a licensed version on another platform. I do know that you won't be able to add or edit records once the trial period is over. If you are willing to use Dropbox for syncing, you could use your web browser and 1PasswordAnywhere to have read-only access on your Windows machine.

You would be able to get the bundle pricing if you send you receipt from the Mac App Store, along with your request, to support+licenses @ agile bit.com. They will arrange for you to receive a discount on the Windows version so that your total cost will be the same as if you had purchased the bundle.

Thanks guys, this is a very useful forum, can we get you guys on other forums around the web so they aren't all just troll fodder!??
But really....I think I will go with the Mac App Store, then send Agile my information to get the bundle pricing. Again, you guys were very helpful, thanks for your time!
