Enterprise License

Do you have a trial for enterprise accounts and access to what features are available? The pricing is confusing for 20+ licenses.

  • Hi @nikeshashar,

A 30-day free trial can be downloaded here: https://agilebits.com/downloads

We offer multi-seat business licenses in our business store: https://agilebits.com/store/business

These licenses can be purchased for any quantity of users greater than one. When purchasing, you will receive one license key/file that can be shared among the number of people corresponding to the number of seats you've purchased.

Anyone covered by a license can use that license on any number of devices of the purchased platform as they wish. For example, if you purchase a five-seat license for Mac, five of your employees can use 1Password for Mac on any number of Macs (including their home Macs).

Please let us know if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help!

    Hi!

I'm looking for a password management tool for our company. As some folks are already using 1Password for personal use, i thought i'd check out whether 1Password would work on a more .. enterprisial level.

    • What happens if a user leaves the company? Is there any way to reclaim and recycle a license? From a central user interface?
    • If i purchase 100 licenses now and top up with 10 later, will the price point be that of 10 licenses or will i get a rebate for the 100 already purchased?
    • Folks like me use Macs on the table and Androids in the bag. Is there a bundle price for Mac + Android like there is for Mac + Windows?
    • Is there a centralised way to create groups of users (one might call them teams :) to share passwords, and then to manage those groups?
    • Building on this, is there a way for me as an admin to create a group and administer the users within but still not see the passwords they share?

  • Hi Robin ( @llaurén ),

What happens if a user leaves the company? Is there any way to reclaim and recycle a license? From a central user interface?

This is going to largely depend on your internal processes, but if the employee is using company owned equipment simply reclaiming the device(s) would be sufficient. If they are installing the software on personal devices then I'd suggest having IT or HR watch them uninstall the software. In cases where that is not possible (perhaps they have a personal desktop computer at home) the honor system will do, from our perspective.

The mechanism is up to you, ultimately. We work on the honor system in this regard. We'd expect that if you have knowledge that an employee is using a license that you purchased that you not re-issue that seat. If you have what you feel is sufficient confidence that is not the case, then you can re-issue it. This all applies primarily to the Mac & Windows applications that we sell. Android and iOS are a whole different ball of wax where apps are tied to an email address/store ID.

That said, there are other concerns when someone leaves. You'll want to change any passwords shared with them, after making sure they no longer have access to new changes made to the vault.

Folks like me use Macs on the table and Androids in the bag. Is there a bundle price for Mac + Android like there is for Mac + Windows?

The way both iOS and Android work, where the app will need to be purchased from each platform's store, will likely mean the best way to go about this would be to have each employee purchase the app on their device and then reimburse them for that purchase. There is no bundle pricing.

The Apple Volume Purchase Program may also be an option for iOS purchases depending on how many employees you have:

    https://www.apple.com/business/vpp/

I don't know of a similar program for Google Play/Android, though there may be one (a quick search didn't turn anything up). There are also 3rd party methods of app distribution that, again, depending on the size of your company, you may want to look into. I have no experience with this solution, but I'll provide the link simply as a reference/starting point:

If i purchase 100 licenses now and top up with 10 later, will the price point be that of 10 licenses or will i get a rebate for the 100 already purchased?

    10 licenses.

Is there a centralised way to create groups of users (one might call them teams :) to share passwords, and then to manage those groups?
Building on this, is there a way for me as an admin to create a group and administer the users within but still not see the passwords they share?

There is not, currently. We are looking into how we might be able to offer something like this in the future. You can read about multiple vaults and sharing vaults here:

    Thanks.

If we purchase 10 license for our company and upload accounts and passwords, will all of the passwords be visible to everyone? Could I use this for personal passwords too without others in the company seeing or being able to use them? Thank you

Thanks @bwoodruff for your answers! Good and honest stuff. Much appreciated.

I do realise Android volume licencing is... tricky at the moment.

Do you have anything on the last two of my questions, as well as those from @dianeeblin ?

    @llaurén

You're very welcome! I believe I addressed your last two questions at the bottom of this post:

If you have further questions though or need clarification I'd be happy to help. :)

    @dianeeblin,

Multiple vaults will accomplish that for you. It'll allow you to share some vaults with only some people, or keep a vault entirely private and un-shared (the default). The last link in my above post has further explanation.

    Thanks!

Ah yes, you are all too correct. Thanks!

Thank you! @bwoodruff guessing that multiple vaults is different than multiple licenses.

  • You're very welcome! Totally separate, yes. Licensing is about who can use the product, vaults are about what containers you want to put your data in.

Hi All, I'm also looking for a enterprise solution (not simply licensing) to our company. We need to keep tight control of our internal passwords and how they are shared within our team.

I'm a HUGE fan and USER of 1Password and would love to keep on the same platform for this job. I hope they will develop this product in the future.

In the meanwhile, I found a product that might do it: Lastpass Enterprise - https://lastpass.com/enterprise/enterprise-features

Does anyone have any other recommendation / solution?

    Thanks,

    Francisco

  • Hi Francisco ( @millarch ),

As this is the AgileBits discussion forum, it probably isn't the best venue to look for alternatives to AgileBits products.

We are definitely looking into more enterprise features for 1Password. :)
