1pass 5 forget that I bought it
I've owned 1Pass 5 for many months, on iMac and MBP (as well as equivalent on iOS 8). Today I opened it on MBP and it says "trial expired."
When I try to follow the instructions on this discussion (find the license file, etc.), I find that there is no license file on MBP. I do have a license number in my database, but don't have any place to put it, as 1Pass wants a license file.
Not sure why this happened. I've got endless programs running on these two machines, and never had one machine tell me it wasn't licensed.
Please help, anyone.

1PW3 used a license number, 1PW4 and 1PW5 use a license file (the same for both).
1PW4 had a bug where sometimes it did not report "trial expired" even after the expiry of the trial period. I'm not sure why 1PW5 is only now reporting "trial expired" as you say you have had it for many months.
But anyway, assuming you bought from AgileBits web store, you would have received a license file as an attachment to an email. Maybe you only have that email on your iMac. You can transfer it to your MBP, or get another copy from Agile's customer centre.
Of course, maybe you have the version from the App Store on the iMac, which does not require a license, but have the web store version on the MBp.

I was able to find your license information under the email address associated with your forum account, and I had it resent to that address. You'll simply need to download your license file using the link in that email, and follow the steps to add that file to 1Password 5 on your Macs.
As @danco mentioned, there was a bug in 1Password 4 for Mac where, in certain cases, an unregistered/trial copy would not expire. That was fixed in version 5, so that could explain why you just started to see the Trial Expired message recently.
