Version 5.1: incompatible update?

According to App Store, I have one incompatible update: 1Password Version 5.1. Is it really incompatible with Macbook Pro running OSX 10.9.5? If so, should I stay with Version 4.4.2 or go with something else? Thanks for the advice!

Hi @ccyoung, The App Store is correct. Version 5 of 1Password requires Yosemite and you're still running Mavericks. If you're running 4.4.2 you're running the latest version compatible with Mavericks. If you should decide to try Yosemite out later you'll be eligible to download 1Password 5 at no cost.

If you have any more questions do please ask

Thanks for the info! The only reason I haven't upgraded to Yosemite is concern that 4.4.2 would be incompatible and therefore I will lose access to all the passwords. Got it backwards :-)

Hi @ccyoung, I can reassure you and say that if you feel strongly about it you don't have to upgrade to 1Password 5 and instead remain with 4.4.2. Of course we can't help with the fact that Apple will nag you repeatedly and we also like to believe that 1Password 5 is pretty damned great  It also contains a plethora of bug fixes as well as some new stuff like a new Wi-Fi Sync that works over secondary vaults. Either way you can make that choice and you can use whatever version you wish without concern over your data.
