Sharing Vaults

I already share my main vault via Dropbox between 2 macs. I created a secondary vault on Mac1, & moved items into it. On Mac2 I only saw the main vault with the 'missing' items, there is no 2ndry vault.
On mac1 I created a new dropbox folder for 2ndry vault (i.e. not the same one as for the main vault). The dropbox folder is visible with mac2 but I cant get to see the 2ndry vault. My 1PSW only shows 1 vault on Mac2.
Some assistance please would be very much appreciated

Even though I did search before posting, I found a similar question - Secondary Vaults problem Started by proteinchaser, 15 Dec 2014 with an answer. This worked, thank you. So now I have a new question - If the new dropbox folder has the 1PSW file with the 2 vaults is the old Dropbox folder with the old 1PSW file now redundant?

    Hi @SoMuch2Do,

Just to let you know I've deleted your comment from the other thread as you've asked the same here. This way we can keep all replies directed towards yourself in one neat please and eliminate any chance of duplication or worse, contrary posts that end up causing confusion.

On a Mac we locally store vaults in a .sqlite database file. If you have multiple vaults they're all stored in this single file and as you know, all unlocked if you unlock your primary vault with your primary vault's Master Password.

The .agilekeychain, even the .opvault predate secondary vaults and they only contain a single vault each. So if you wish to sync secondary vaults using Dropbox you would need a .agilekeychain per vault. The primary vault is always labelled 1Password.agilekeychain and the others we by default title the same as whatever you named it at the time of its creation. So if this new folder of your has two .agilekeychains in it and when you check on Mac1 as to where it is syncing each of these, that they both point to this same folder then yes, the old one is redundant. However, if this new folder simply contains a single .agilekeychain then both are likely in use and you do not want to remove either.

Hopefully that explanation helps but if it doesn't do please let us know along with where it wasn't clear enough  and of course if it generates any follow up questions do please ask.

Thanks for the explanation - which I understood even if it is complicated to explain :) I use dropbox to sync and since having multiple vaults, each vault has its own dropbox folder and within that the appropriately named 1Password.agilekeychain. (ie this is according to your explanation)
In addition I have what appears to be a redundant 1Password.agilekeychain file in the Dropbox root directory. Can I delete this? None of the vault preferences, sync details point to this.
    Thanks again.

    Hi @SoMuch2Do,

In that case yes, you are free to delete it. It sounds like you've been thorough in ensuring it isn't in use so I'm guessing it's a remanent from some pervious sync attempt and now of no use.
