Duplicate logins were saved instead of being replaced.
Hi,
I was trying to change my password in this website https://clientarea.ramnode.com/clientarea.php and I used the password that 1Password suggested. What happened was, 1Password saved 2 login credentials from the same website. I was actually expecting my previous login with the old password to be replaced by the new one automatically.
Thanks.

Alright, let me just add three more drops of explosive diarrhoea
(I don't expect anybody but ItsAdventureTime to get that)
Can I ask, when you changed your password did 1Password pop up with the following window?
Now if you click on that drop down menu button that I've highlighted you will find two options as seen in the image below
Now for me the second option is greyed out as it's disabled. The reason is I have no matching Login items in my primary vault but if you do it is enabled and you can select it. If you have multiple Login items that match then you can choose which you wish to update. The text field where you can name your Login item becomes a drop down menu when you're updating and you can select which there.
Does any of this tally with your experience? Any questions do please ask

Awesome explaination! Thanks!
Now, how about a feature request? :)
You see, this is the default settings of 1Password, like the factory settings:
So, I decided to change it to:
Now, in case I run into a few problems, I would have to manually adjust everything and probably guess the old settings.
I feature that will allow users to restore back to the default settings would be great. And it applies to the settings of 1Password, browser extension settings and even the ability to completely reset the vault or vaults as if everything is good as new.Another thing, I was updating the passwords of my logins. Now, in most websites there is this page wherein you will be needing the provide the current password and of course the new password which consists of two fields, for consistency and verification, i guess.
So, I pressed on
CMD+\
so that it will automatically fill the current password field. What happened was it filled out all of the fields. So, I had to manually provide, paste or typed the current password. After submitting the update, 1Password didn't prompt me to update the password. Instead, I had to manually copy and paste the new password which is placed in the "Passwords" category and then update the "Logins" of that specific site.Any fix for it?
Thanks.

We are actually working on a totally revamped filling logic at the moment so hopefully your password changing scenario will improve. I agree, filling in your old password three times doesn't seem very intelligent. Also we want to work with as many sites as possible and to reduce the instances where you have to manually edit afterwards. I can't give a timeline for the new filling logic but we're looking forward to it.
We'll certainly take your other request under consideration too. At the moment we usually guide users through the process of manually starting over through the removal of our support files but I can understand the desire for something a little more user friendly.
If you have any more queries or observations on 1Password please do ask/let us know

Another thing, a feature that will easily report a website that isn't working properly with 1Password.

It isn't about the uninstallation of 1Password if that is what you meant. It is about resetting some of the settings that were customized by the user. For example, the password generator. Altering the settings is good, it automatically makes the changes performed by the user permanent but the original settings are lost. For now what I did is to create a screenshot of each and every settings that I have altered.
Another thing, I just realized something. In order to use 1Password Anywhere, I have to be logged in to my Dropbox account right and search the file there? What if the password of my Dropbox account is saved by 1Password that is made up of multiple symbols, letters and numbers? How can I access my logins? Yes, I can use my phone but what if my phone isn't available or there is no available internet access?

Hi @ItsAdventureTime ,
Thanks so much for the feedback here, it's much appreciated!

Well, you've hit upon a tricky situation there. Ideally, we hope that users will only ever have to remember one password - their Master Password for 1Password. However, there are a few circumstances where you might feel the need to keep one or two more inside your brain. One of these is your Dropbox password, if you want to make use of 1PasswordAnywhere, or if you ever need to set up a new device with 1Password. Personally, I also memorize my AppleID, as Apple seems to ask for it in those annoying little pop-up windows that makes it hard to switch to 1Password and copy my password.
For passwords that you may need to remember and type occasionally, we recommend using a system like Diceware to create the password. You can read all about it in our security guru's post: Towards Better Master Passwords.

I agree, I will take note of everything that you said.

I agree. Yes, those pop-up windows makes it hard to switch and use 1Password so that you can copy and paste your login credentials. By the way, is 1Password compatible with TouchID?

Thanks for this awesome blog post. I am going to study and learn it by heart.
By the way, I already sent my school ID through email :)

Yes, we were one of the first apps to adopt support for Touch ID. In fact, Apple showed us off when they demo'ed Touch ID at their keynote.
You can find out more here: https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-ios/5/en/topic/touch-id
On behalf of Megs, you're welcome. If there's anything else we can help you with, please let us know.

That is really nice! Looking forward to use the Touch ID feature of 1Password once I grab a new phone this year or probably next year when the 6s series are released.

When you do there is one aspect I'd like to make sure you're aware of as we have seen it happen. Thankfully though you're a Mac user too so it shouldn't apply.
At the moment you can use Touch ID to unlock 1Password 5 for iOS and repeatedly do so unless you reboot your iOS device. My concern is a string Master Password has to be remembered and that is best done through repetitive use although ideally not on an iOS keyboard
So all I'm saying is make sure you're routinely using your Master Password on your Mac so you never risk forgetting it. As long as you can still access the vault with Touch ID there is one way to recover the contents but all you'd need to do is run out of power on the iOS device at that point and then your world starts to crumble at the realisation that you've been effectively locked out. A horrible thought for any of our users I'm sure you will agree.
