Hi @Hauke01,
Each Category in the left sidebar of 1Password will show all items of the same type - so, Logins will show all the Login items you've created, Secure Notes will show you all the Secure Note items you've created, and so on. An item can't be in two different categories, because it can't simultaneously be two different types of items. For example, a Secure Note item won't appear in the Logins category, because a Secure Note isn't a Login - it's a Secure Note.
However, if you'd like to organize different types of items together, you can do that using folders or tags. An item can only be placed into one folder at a time, but you can apply multiple tags to an item. When you create folders or add tags to items, those folders and tags will appear in the left sidebar, under the Categories.
I hope that helps, but if you have more questions about that, please let us know! :)

Hi Drew, many thanks! Unfortunately I organized years ago everything in "Login". Now I like to make it more precise and put it in the right category... If I understood right, i not even can delete a File in one category and add it to another, ok than I have to make Tags wish have the same name than categories... strange.
Thx and have a nice weekend,Hauke

Hi @Hauke01 ,
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding! It sounds to me like you're looking to change which category some of your items are in, rather than have them be in two different categories at the same time.
Getting things organized can be a bit of a daunting process! But 1Password mini does make it easy: simply locate the item that you wish to move into a different category in mini, and click on the anchor icon in the bottom corner. This will pin the details to your screen, so that you can easily copy and paste the details into the new item type.
I hope this helps!

Hi Megan,
I understand... but that mean past and copy line by line for 314 entries... I hoped for an easier solution. I think there is a backround programing to put things in place. Maybe it can be an idea to make itvisible while u r editing ... so it can be switched later on or put it via duplication into another category too.
Anyway... many rhx and happy valentines!

Hi @hauke01,
The difficulty of converting items is mapping specific fields between two different categories that might not have a relationship. For an example, a password field in the Login goes where in the Identity item that has no such field?
We've added a few features over time to make this easier, such as letting you create custom fields and setting field types for the fields. An example would be creating a custom password field in the Identity item that would make sense you move from Login to Identity.
We hope to do more in the future to make this process easier and it is possible as the result of this, we might be able to let you convert items. We do want this ability.
