Updating shared items between vaults

Hi @johnbeaty,
If I understand, it sounds like you copied an item from your Primary vault to your secondary (aka "Family") vault by selecting that item and going to Item > Share in the menu bar. When you do that, it creates a separate copy of the item. At that point, even though they have the same information, they're really two completely separate items, so changes you make to that item in one vault will not affect the item in the other vault.
As explained in this User Guide article:
On the one hand, this requires you to copy the item again if you make changes to it in your primary vault. You will need to update it in your shared vault. On the other hand, this can be a great safety net if someone else with whom you are sharing a vault makes undesirable changes to the item in the shared vault. You will still have your own original copy in the original vault.
Sorry for any confusion about that! I hope this helps to explain how that works. If you have more questions, please let us know - we're here for you! :)

Hi Drew, and thanks for the info.
FYI, I searched your site for about 30 minutes using such terms as 'vaults", "shared vault", "copy login" etc, and not once did the search return anything even CLOSE to what you quoted. That's been an issue I've had for some time: the search function seems very limited.
Love the product, love the direct support. I have issues with the manuals and forums as being not up to the standard of your product.

Hi @johnbeaty,
Sorry for the frustration there. We've tried a few systems for both the manuals and the forums. I don't know if we've settled on what we're using yet as like many aspects of life, it takes a while to find the solution that really fits in with you, something that works on many levels from singular all the way up to running a country.
Hopefully our direct support can make up for any shortcomings in the software we currently use to interact with you!
If you have any questions do please ask away
