Manual Synch for different 1Password-Versions?

Hi,

I run 1Password 4.1.2 on MacOS 10.9 and 1Password 3.7.2 on IOS 5.1.1. To keep both synched via dropbox, I run on another Mac (MacOS 10.5.9) 1 Password 3.5.9. This worked fine for me, but a few days ago arrived an email from dropbox, telling me that they will stop the support for the older MacOS shortly.

Is there a way to synch the two MacOs-Versions manually? What file would I have to copy and where can I find it???

I would be very grateful for any hint ...

    Hi @Gspot,

So at the moment you use Dropbox to keep the two Macs in sync so you can use 1Password 3 for Mac to Wi-Fi Sync with your iOS device. Now do you keep 1Password 3 only on the older Mac for syncing purposes or do you need 1Password 3 when using that Mac?

Why do I ask? If all you really need is 1Password 4 on your Mavericks machine but you keep 1Password 3 to sync with your iOS device then we can have 1Password 3 and 1Password 4 on the same machine syncing locally. If however you want to keep 1Password working on both of your Macs then we'll need to use Folder Sync in 1Password 4 and a third party sync tool such as rsync or ChronoSync. Now that last bit, the third party tool, you can do away with if you're willing to only edit the vault on your Mavericks machine and happy to see the vault there pushed out to the other machine and as a result iOS device. Then we can copy the 1Password.agilekeychain from the Mavericks machine to the Leopard machine (wow, Leopard).

Let us know what you'd like to do and we'll do out best to help you out.

    Hi littlebobbytables,

thanks a lot for your fast answer.

Yes, I use 1Password 3 on the older Mac, but - to say the truth - not very often.

I already use a synch tool (i.e. Synchronize! Pro X) on the Mavericks Mac. Would this be fine to keep both 1Password versions working on both of my Macs?

Could you please tell me, how to Folder Synch in 1 Password 4 and then use the synch tool?

This knowledge base article will get you started. (Although it refers to 1P5 it should apply, too, to 1P4.)
