Manually added image has a background
Hi,
I have option "Rich icons" on, but 1password unable find all of the software icons.
So I have added some icons manually.

Hi @ZeoS,
When you add a custom icon, we try to keep the image file small (16KB, I think) so it doesn't take up too much space, mainly for syncing. First, 1Password tries to shrink and save the icon in PNG format. If that's too large, it will try using JPEG format, which doesn't support a transparent background.
It sounds like the image or icon you're using might be too large, and 1Password isn't able to shrink it enough using the PNG format.
Please download this image, and try adding it as a custom icon: https://com-agilebits-users.s3.amazonaws.com/jasper/images/screenflow-icon.png
When I tested it, I was able to get a transparent background. Let me know what happens when you try.

Hi @JasperP,
I've downloaded the icon PNG file from www.macupdate.com
File size is 51 kb.
I've tried to make file smaller (extracted the icon from the app's .icns file) and reduce it size to 16 kb. But it still has that background.
Your file size is 12 kb. I didn't try any of the in-between sizes, but I assume the allowed size is something less then 15kb, right?
I do understand is not critical at all, and not a big deal, but would be nice to have the proper reducing_file_size feature. Thanks for your help.

Hi @ZeoS,
I've tried to make file smaller (extracted the icon from the app's .icns file) and reduce it size to 16 kb.
It may have exceeded our byte limit, try reducing it to less than 15KB as you've suggested. If it is under 16KB, 1Password will not resize it. Make sure the reduced size didn't remove the transparent background.

This is an area we want to improve going forward. I think there's room for us to do significantly better. The limitations were put in place to avoid a user's keychain getting very large. I think it might be time for us to reconsider some of those limitations or put extra effort into finding ways of getting the images smaller without resorting to jpegs.
