Get items out of 'Main' Log-Ins list once in a 'sub-folder'

Hi,
My main log-ins list is getting quite long.
I have created some sub folders and that helps but is sort of an all or nothing deal. In that, unless I always put newly created log ins into sub folders, and only use the sub folders to find what I need, then my main list will keep getting longer and longer
Is there a way to: once a login item is assigned to a sub folder it then does not show up in the 'main' list?
I know this is not quite clear.... The desire would be to have a shorter main list with the 'ancillary' log ins that don't belong to a 'sub group' and a number of folders that are the desired sub groups... (I hope that helps define my desired intent.... =)

  • Hi @TroyKrueger,

I think you were pretty clear there. Unfortunately there's no real way to have items opt out of the All Items list. Managing ever-growing list of items is a problem we're very familiar with... all of us here have a whole lot of items. It's an area we hope we can make better in a future version.

One workaround for this would be to create a Smart Folder whose search criteria is All items whose Folder is blank. This would allow you to find all unclassified items. Here's what that configuration looks like:

As you move them into folders they'll automatically get removed from this list.

    I hope this helps.

    Rick

    Hi @TroyKrueger,

and that's why Rick earns the bug bucks as a developer  I'm not sure I would have thought of that rather ingenious use of smart folders. Glad he was able to find a nice workaround for you
