iPhone not Syncing with MacBook
I have 1PW on my Mac (Version 5.1) and on my iPhone (Version 5.2.1) and apparently nothing is syncing because I must enter my User ID and Password for every site and every app that I attempt to open.
Prior to upgrading to a the new iPhone 6 Plus, it was working, albeit poorly. Now it will not work at all !! I can manually open 1PW and copy and past both username and password into their respective fields for each site and each app. However, if I have to go through these steps, what's the point in having 1PW ?
Is anyone else experiencing this issue, either prior to upgrading to the iPhone 6, or after ?
Any help would be appreciated as I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with having purchased a service that will not work properly.
Thank you in advance,
Kenneth

It would be much easier to help if you'd tell us how you're actually trying to sync the two devices. :) What are you using: iCloud, Dropbox or local wifi?
I'm afraid I also don't understand the logic of this statement:
nothing is syncing because I must enter my User ID and Password for every site and every app that I attempt to open.
That is not really a symptom of a failed sync (unless you're saying it happens only on one device and not the other). A little clarification of that statement would be helpful. Are you experiencing that issue on both Mac and phone, or only one one?
If you can answer the questions, and explain the problem a little more fully, someone will be able to help resolve the issue for you.

Hi @lillyCo,
Like Stephen, I'm also not sure I understand the problem you're describing. You said nothing is syncing, does that mean none of the data from 1Password on your Mac is showing up in 1Password on your iPad? Or are you having trouble filling your Login items in websites?
It will be helpful if you can give us some more specific details about the problem. For example, if your data doesn't sync from your Mac to the iPhone, what sync method are you trying to use - iCloud, Dropbox, or Wi-Fi? Of if you're having trouble filling your Login credentials in websites on your iPhone, are you using the built-in browser in 1Password, or are you using the 1Password extension in Safari? Or another app?
The more details you can give us, the better. Thanks in advance!

Hi Drew, just to clarify, iCloud is being used to sync the two devises. In reply to Stevens comment .... yes, that is what I'm saying ... "unless you're saying it happens only on one device and not the other". The issue is with 1PW not syncing with the new iPhone 6 Plus, hence the title of the post, "iPhone not Syncing with MacBook". So in fact, this is a symptom of a failed sync.
So again, none of the data from 1PW on my Mac is showing up on my iPhone - nothing. It's as if 1PW doesn't even exist on my iPhone ... except the data that is stored "within" the 1PW app. As I mentioned in my original post, I can manually open 1PW and copy and past both username and password into their respective fields for each site and each app. However, if I have to go through these steps, what's the point in having 1PW ? Also, I use Safari as my web browser, both on my Mac and my iPhone.
I hope this helps in answering your questions.
Thank you in advance,

Hi @lillyCo,
Thanks for the additional information. It sounds like you're using the iCloud sync option in 1Password on your Mac and iPhone, but that isn't working correctly, and you don't have any of your data in 1Password on your iPhone at all? In that case, let's try checking the sync settings:
On your Mac:
- Open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences.
- Click the Sync tab.
- Make sure it shows your Primary vault is set to sync with iCloud. If it isn't, set up iCloud sync by following the steps here.
On your iPhone:
- Open 1Password and go to Settings > Sync > Sync Service.
- Make sure it shows the current sync method is iCloud. If it isn't, set up iCloud sync by following the steps here.
Let us know what you find in the sync settings on both. If iCloud sync wasn't enabled on your Mac or iPhone, does enabling it solve the problem?
If iCloud sync was already enabled in 1Password on both your Mac and iPhone, please try a quick test:
- On your Mac, open 1Password and create a new Secure Note and name it "Test from Mac".
- On your iPhone, open 1Password and create a new Secure Note and name it "Test from iPhone".
- Allow the sync to complete on each.
- Does "Test from Mac" show up on your iPhone?
- Does "Test from iPhone" show up on your Mac?
Let us know how it goes, thanks!
