Multiple vaults with separate iCloud and Enterprise file share synchronization

Given a slight preference for synchronizing to iCloud over Dropbox, I had expected to be able to select different synchronization options for different vaults. For example, consider personal, family, and professional vaults. The first two might be best placed the the cloud but many Enterprises will not allow even encrypted files to be placed in cloud storage that they don't own, but will allow file servers under their control to be used.

This model is not supported today. Can someone clarify why, since the examples clearly indicate the use case has been considered.

The point may in the short term be mute for many Enterprises that demand application certification to be more confident that user information is always stored in a secure form without a chance for leaks. Any chance of that being considered as well?

When we first introduced secondary vaults it was more envisaged as a way to share a vault with others. As a result, syncing secondary vaults with icloud wasn't a priority given you can't share and still can't. Of course one way users can always surprise you is in how they use a feature compared to how you saw it. Many users use secondary vaults as a logical divide and want to sync all the vaults over just their devices and this user case isn't currently handled with iCloud Sync.

Now in your example you mention personal and family. If the intention was to sync both over iCloud but sharing the family then as I was saying above, that won't work because of iCloud and not us, it's why we use Dropbox because of their ability to share folders between Dropbox accounts.

Now you can use a combination of iCloud, Dropbox and Folder Sync if you wish. You could use iCloud for your personal vault, Dropbox for the family vault and then Folder Sync for the enterprise vault. Folder Sync in an enterprise fashion though would require careful consideration depending on how many users could be potentially trying to modify the vault.

Certainly I can make a note of your desire for a more robust enterprise solution.
