I have been trying hard for several years to rely on 1 Password and:
I'm on a recent iMac, All my sw and systems are up-to-date.
I have 1152 items in my 1P collection.
My challenges:
1) About 5 times a day, I get messages such as: "Your email and password do not match!" - Forget password ?

2) For my 50 most used passwords I have an average of 7 (and up to 20) passwords....

3) On my iPhone I am unable to activate Autofill

4) I am now seriously considering Alternatives - and Last Pass looks good :-( ?

5) I need support ! Access to a huge Database of other peoples problems / Forums is NOT a good service to help me out (especially as English is not the first of my 5 languages...

6) Please confirm that I am simply to dumb for 1P ;-)

    Hi @polwirtz,

I think the first thing we need to do is clear up the duplicates you have.

My suggestion would be as follows. Do you see the text just below the search field in your second image, where it currently says "16 items sorted by Title"? if you click there you can sort by a variety of parameters including Date Modified. What I would recommend is changing to Date Modified and then searching for each of these duplicated sites in turn. Lets take your Facebook one for example.

I would suggest starting with the newest Login item and seeing if the username and password are correct, can you log into the site in question using this Login? If you can then I would delete the others if they're merely accidental duplicates. If the first doesn't work you can delete it and move down the list.

It will take time but you may find issue 1. isn't as bad once you've removed a lot of the duplicates.

If you're still having trouble with certain sites not logging in properly we recommend our Saving a Login Manually guide as a first step. Often creating a fresh Login item using that process can help. If it does then you can delete the old one.

To help you with your iPhone query it might be helpful to know a little more about your situation.

    • What version of 1Password for iOS are you running?
    • If you're referring to 1Password 5 for iOS are you having issues with the iOS Safari extension or 1Browser?
    • When you say unable to activate can you describe what you're doing and how it isn't behaving to expectations.

While you may be struggling to tame 1Password at the moment, if you've been using it for several years and have a collection of over one thousand items in your vault it seems a tad unlikely you're "too dumb for 1P". I think we just need to help you tidy up your vault a little and guide you through a couple of the features it has to help with logging in.
