5.3 beta-20 All working well for me so far. Is there any way to add new categories? Seems an obvious thing to have, and other similar programmes have it, but I've not discovered how to do it. (e.g. insurance policies)

There is not currently a way to add new categories or edit the names of the existing one. It's a very frequently requested feature. Although the developers always say they are considering adding that option, they haven't promised to do so or published a timeline. (I don't work for AgileBits, so I can't speak for them about their plans.)

    Hi @philton,

Custom categories is a popular request, and I'm happy to add a vote for you to the request in our internal tracker. :)

I was about to ask the same thing until I saw this thread. Here in Australia we don't have 'Social Security Numbers' so I was looking at either removing it or editing it as another category like Tax File Number or similar.

    Hi @JackHenry,

Thanks for letting us know, I'm sorry for the confusion about that! Even though the category in 1Password is called "Social Security Numbers", you can still use that to store your Tax File Number. It's a very simply item type - basically just a name and number - so it doesn't matter if that number is actually a Social Security Number or not.

Hopefully we'll be able to add some more flexibility to that sort of thing in the future. If you have more questions, please let us know!

    Hi @JackHenry,

No problem, and I've added your feedback to the open request. I just wanted to make sure you knew you could still store your Tax File Number in that category.

Thanks again for the feedback! :)
