Status of 1password improving login ability?
I'm basically redoing all my Keepass passwords, and trying to create autologin capability with 1password.
Sure, some work, but I'm running into SO MANY "1password can only take you to the site" because they bring up their own little popup to login
Hey, come on, this discussion forum is one of those beasts - so you are certainly aware of this issue, but when asked about this site, I only see, "sorry, it doesn't work here, but here is an alternative place to login".
And - my own response - sorry, but I don't have time to search for those alternative places to login for many, many sites - they may not even exist... it should just work.
Maybe I'm frustrated, because I've run into at least 25 of these types of sites today in my work to organize pwds with 1password, and it gets very tiring.
Thanks for any thoughts.

As a former windows user, I still use firefox on my mac.
But thanks for the Safari hint, does that work on this discussion site as well?Definitely does not work if you have multiple logins to a site - it always picks the first one. That happens more often than not with me as I have a spouse with logins, and multiple email addresses or credit cards or.... whatever. (And yes, this is different than my "popup" question, but your solution will not work for me)

It most certainly does work with this discussion site. It is, however, necessary to first click on the "Sign in" hyperlink to call up the following screen:

Hi @Seeker,
I'm sorry you're having some trouble with this! If I understand, it sounds like the problem is that some sites require you to click on a "Sign in" or "Log in" link first, in order to see the login form in a popup window. But once you click that link and see the popup window, you should be able to use the ⌘\ keyboard shortcut to have 1Password fill your username/password (or you can click the 1Password extension and choose the Login item, although I personally find the keyboard shortcut is much easier).
Until you click the link to see the popup window, there's no login form. If there's no login form, 1Password can't fill your username and password. You would need to click that link before manually entering your login credentials, and the same is true in order for 1Password to enter your login credentials.
I hope that helps to explain things a bit! As you already know, some sites have an alternative login page where the username/password fields are right there on the page itself. If you save a Login with that alternative URL, it should work much better for you. For example, you can go to this alternate login page for our forums, and save a new Login manually.
You mentioned that you have multiple logins for the same site, but that 1Password picks one for you instead of giving you a choice. Are those logins in the same vault? If you only have one Login for a site in the current vault, the 1Password extension will use that Login item (in other words, it doesn't currently search multiple vaults to find matching Login items). But if you have multiple Login items for the same site in the same vault, it should ask which one you want to use. In that case, let us know and we'll help to figure out what's going on there. Thanks!
