Hi all,

I am attempting to sync my 1Password with iCloud, but there are no options inside the program to do so. I have enabled iCloud Drive in Yosemite, without any luck either.

  • I’m using 1Password version #: 5.1
  • On a (Mac/PC/iOS/Android): Mac and iOS
  • Syncing with: iCloud

If you bought your license from the AgileBits web store, iCloud isn't an option for syncing. Apple closed off acces to the required protocols to application they don't sell on one of their app stores when iOS 8 and Yosemite were released.

If you bought your license within the last 30 days, AgileBits will refund your purchase and you can buy from the Mac App Store. The AgileBits web store version can successfully sync with Dropbox as its only current cloud option. If your purchase was within the last 30 days and you decide you'd like a refund, post back here for instructions.

I bought it along with Parallels Desktop offer yesterday. I would like to have this feature :-)

@passyone - The Parallels offer can only give away the AgileBits version. There is no way for anyone to give away an Apple version. And there isn't anything AgileBits will be able to do either, since they haven't sold you anything to refund. I don't have any idea what Parallels might do, but since they are selling Parallels and including some other applications for free, including 1Password, they may not give you any financial relief either. But that's where you'll have to go for that.

Otherwise, if iCloud syncing is important enough to you, you'll have to buy a license from the Mac App Store. There has been a 30% off St. Patrick's Day sale going on. It will be for a limited time (if it hasn't already expired), so you may want to check that out for favorable pricing.

Edit: I just checked the Mac App Store, and that sale is still in effect this morning.

(I do not work for AgileBits. I'm a forum volunteer.)

    Hi @passyone,

I am part of the AgileBits team and what you've been told so far is all correct.

    • Due to restrictions that are now being enforced, iCloud Sync using the CloudKit framework is only possible in apps or applications purchased via one of Apple's stores.
    • There is no way to mass migrate users from our Agile Web Store (AWS) version to the Apple's Mac App Store (MAS) one. There is also no way to give a selective discount to people wanting to purchase the MAS version.
    • Much for the reason above, there isn't a way to bundle the MAS version in the Parallels offer. There isn't even a way to offer a bundle deal for people that wanted to purchase both the MAS and iOS version (so two platforms but both from Apple's store).
    • While we are part of Parallel's bundle much like with Apple's store, as the purchase was between you and Parallels we are unable to offer a refund as the sale wasn't through our store.

You do still have access to the Dropbox and Wi-Fi Sync though if you want to sync between a Mac and one or more iOS devices. If you want we can help you with these, it all depends on how much value you place on iCloud Sync. Please do let us know what you would like to do
