Sharing Mac App Store version with Spouse
Hey Agilebits!
About a year ago I purchased 1password on the Mac App Store, and since then my spouse has become super-jealous, to use the technical term.
I want to install 1password on their mac and have the process be as painless as possible- and in retrospect I wish I had thought to purchase outside the app store.
How can I get 1password to recognize my license on my spouses computer, without having to mess around with logging in and out of apple id's every time updates and changes need to be downloaded?
Thanks

If you are both on Yosemite and you have 1Password 5, that version of 1Password for Mac is eligible for family sharing. If you set that up with your wife in the family group, she can download a copy without additional charge.
Otherwise, if you share the same Apple ID for App Store purchases, that would be the only other way for her to get a copy without having to pay for it.
There isn't really a separate license for any software from Apple. The licensing is tied to the Apple ID that was used when it it purchased.

Hi @exa,
I hope hawkmoth's answer was helpful for you! If you'd like to set up Family Sharing to share your Mac App Store purchases with your spouse, Apple has steps to do that here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH18977
If you have more questions about 1Password, just let us know. Thanks!

Hey guys,
Thanks for getting back to me. Is there any way I can transfer from an App Store purchase to a regular one?

Yes (if by "regular one" you mean buying from the AgileBits store). Please take a look at this knowledge base article.
However, do please note that doing that will completely lose you the ability to sync 1P data using iCloud. (Dropbox and local wifi sync will still work, of course.)
