When I start to sync my new 1Password 5 for Mac with my iPhone, I enter the secret number (with spaces) and I get a message that it "timed out" and stops each time. Any help?

    Please try this:

    1. disable wifi sync on each device then re-enable it; and/or
    2. reboot both/all devices.

In my experience 2 almost invariably solves the problem, If it doesn't in your case please post again because there are some other things you can check and try,

@SteveAgile: Indeed. It may be either the wifi on one of the devices or the router itself that may be the culprit. Go ahead and:

    1. restart your router, and while you are waiting a few minutes for that to finish booting up,
    2. disable wifi on both the Mac and iPhone. Once the router is online again,
    3. turn the wifi on the Mac and iPhone back on.
I have to do this occasionally myself, as resetting the connection fully resolves a lot of strange issues where network connections are timing out. I hope this helps! :)

Well, I did restart my router, disabled wifi on both the mac and iPhone and turned it back on. After putting in the secret code, the sync started. The message I got about 30 seconds later is "Sync Problem: The operation couldn't be completed. Operation timed out." Think I need some other suggestions. Thanks. Steve

Here is a link to a suggestion of mine on the 1P for Mac Beta forum which worked for someone else. Do please read it very carefully before trying it and note the warnings. In essence, it involves deleting then re-installing 1P for iOS—a process which will delete all your 1P data on your phone.

(I'm assuming you're using 1P for iOS 5.3 on your phone.)

I too was wondering what version of 1Password for iOS you were running @SteveAgile. I noticed you mentioned new 1Password 5 for Mac so if I was to hazard a guess it sounds like the information may be only on your iPhone? If this is the case then you don't want to follow Stephen_C's suggestion, at least not without some backing up first.

So I'd like to know exactly what version you're running on both your Mac and your iOS device and what state the two are in. Are you trying to copy your vault from your iOS device to your Mac (without success) or were they in sync for a while and something has now changed? With a little more information as to your situation I believe we can come up with a few solutions to try out.
