Can't restore 1Password data after clean install of OS X 10.10.2
Hi,
I just done a clean install of Yosemite. I did a Time Machine backup just prior to the install. I have recovered Safari and Mail data so far.
Now I can't find the backup data for 1Password. I have looked on the backup using Time Machine but can't recognise a 1Password backup file.
I have tried using the restored 1Password app via Preferences, Show files and Find Backup but have not been successful. Show Files only shows a backup (of nothing) done shortly after the app was restored from the Time Machine backup.
How do I recover the 1Password data from my backup?

On the assumption you're using either 1P4 or 1P5 take a look at this knowledge base article which describes where 1P stores its backups. It should help you find those backups in your Time Machine backup.

Thanks Stephen and Megan for the quick feedback. Much appreciated.
As background I had tried a clean install of Yosemite because I had managed to corrupt Python files somewhere in my system. As a result I was unable to continue developing software for a particular scientific problem. However it soon became clear that recreating my system without using the Apple Migration Assistant (I tried using it and the corrupted files were migrated along with everything else) was a 'bridge to far' for me. Symptoms included loss of 1Password data, loss of Contacts and Calendar data etc, etc. I also really did not want to resort to Command Line solutions. So in the end I decided that 'discretion was the better part of valour' and reverted to the backed up system. At least my computer works again.
1Password is a very useful application and I would be at a loss without it. But I must admit it would have been nice to have a data recovery tool to assist in migrating to a clean OS X install. Please excuse this comment if one already exists; if it does I would very much like to get it.
Thanks again for the quick reply.

Hi @Chrise123 ,
Thanks so much for the feedback - it's great to know that you find 1Password so useful! If you are considering migrating to a clean install in the future, I would recommend looking into our sync options. In particular, you can use Folder Sync to simply create a 1Password.agilekeychain file for each vault and store it on a USB key. (As added protection if you're completely wiping your hard drive, I would copy the 1Password datafile and backups as listed in that knowledgebase article as well.)
Beyond that, we really don't have a specific data recovery tool at this time - thanks for the suggestion!
