Upgrading 1Password on Mac

I bought iPassword 4 direct from Agilebits. I now want to upgrade to V5 so I can use the iCloud sync. But the Mac App Store only does full licenses, rather than upgrades. So how can I upgrade to the V5 App Store version from a V4 AgileBits version?

    Unfortunately, you can't.

    Apple just does not provide a way of giving discounts in the App Store.

    How important is iCloud sync to you. Many of us (including most of the AgileBits staff) are happy with Dropbox sync. That is available in all versions, and the 1PW5 upgrade is free direct from AGileBits. You just have to decide whether iCloud sync is worth the cost of buying again.

    Unfortunately Apple doesn't currently provide a way to convert a license for the AgileBits Store version of 1Password to the Mac App Store version. So if you wanted the Mac App Store version of 1Password, you would need to purchase that separately, at the price shown there. I'm sorry for any confusion about that!

    As danco mentioned, if you bought a license for 1Password 4 for Mac, the upgrade to 1Password 5 is completely free for you. It will still be a license from the AgileBits Store, which supports Dropbox and Wi-Fi sync.
