WiFi sync not working [computer not found, working on a fix]
After updating to version 6.1.1 on my iPhone and iPad the WiFi sync stopped woking. The sync icon show the animation (spinning) but nothing syncs.
Also when I select sync only the number of items is listed. There is no option so select cloud or WiFi like before.

Hello @ErP,
I had some trouble with Wi-Fi Sync too in 6.1. Normally it's Bonjour related except another device could see my MacBook meaning I know part of it was working. It suggested it wasn't as simple as it has been in the past. I still had the 6.1.1 update pending though.
Try the following, see if it helps you at all.
- Quit 1Password from the iOS multitasking screen (I actually just quit every app, literally everything).
- Restart your iOS device.
When you next launch 1Password for iOS does it behave any better?
We recently introduced a new view called All Vaults. It's not a real vault but a combined view of your vaults to reduce jumping between multiple vaults and as such it doesn't sync. It's probably caught all of us out so far as we're all so used to the primary vault being the default. If you change to the primary vault you will see the normal screen that you expect to see.
Please let us know how you get along.

Thanks for your quick response. The Quit+Restart trick didn't work (I had tried before). However when I selected the individual vaults and manually clicked sync it worked.
Thanks!

Unfortunately I am experiencing the same problem since upgrading to 6.11 on iPad and iPhone. Neither of the solutions above work for me. It used to sync automatically and no longer does so. And the error I get when trying to make it sync is the "Computer not found ... " box. Needless to say, all devices are on the same Wifi network (I have checked!)

I'm having the same problem and just realized that 1Password updated on my iPhone yesterday. I finally got it to sync by restarting everything several times, but now I see at least one duplicate entry in the list on my iPhone. I think there are some problems with this last update.

Hi there, 1P for iOS won’t sync anymore over WIFI with 1P on Mac after iOS upgrade to 6.1.1
I’m on OS X Yosemite 10.10.5, 1Password 5.4.1
1P on the iPhone just won’t see 1P on Mac for WIFI sync, they’re on the same network ofcourse.
Here is a screenshot from the iPhone.
Any idea on how to fix it?

I have the same problem. On the iPhone, after selecting a vault, I start the WIFI sync but I am told that there is no server available for the synchronization (of course, it is correctly open on the Mac). On the iPad, vaults are even no more setup for synchronization. When I click on Sync, I am not asked for the code from the server, not on the iPhone.
I am using the latest version 5 of 1 password for Mac from the Mac App Store (El Capitan). On iPad and IPhone, both on iOS 9, I am using the latest version 6.
This is not the first time I have problems with that feature. The only sync which is working fine uses Dropbox, but I do not want to put my passwords in the cloud.
I begin to be tired with all that problems. Please give me a good reason to still continue using 1password.

Hi @robw,
I'm sorry you are having issues with the app not seeing your computer for WIFi sync. Could you please try setting up an ad-hoc network and seeing if that resolves the issue for you? If it does, then it suggests that the change may be a firewall or anti-virus issue. But before we go down that route, let's see if the ad-hoc network allows your iOS app to see the computer.

Hi @dmeis99,
I'm glad that you were eventually able to get your data to sync, but I am sorry that you had to go through so much trouble for it to get to do so.
I'm not sure why you would be seeing a duplicate entry in your vault though. If you want to pursue that issue further then I am going to suggest that you send us a diagnostic report so we can take a look at your logs. Instructions on creating a diagnostic report are below:
https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/ios.html
Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@agilebits.com
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.
A short note here once you've sent the Report in will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)
Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Stephen_C, rebooting both made the trick!
Thanks

Unfortunately, not for me.

Thanks Eva. That worked, i.e. I could get it to sync on an ad hoc network. However, I've not had this problem before on my regular network and obviously doing this "ad hoc" is clunky. Appreciate the help, thanks.

Hi @robw,
Thank you for checking. This does tell me that there is something going on with your network that is hampering the iOS device from seeing your computer. Could you please try rebooting your router and seeing if that resolves the issue on your network?
Please let me know how it goes.

I am having the same issue. I ran into the problem with the app store bug and had to uninstall and reinstall the app from the app store. Once I did I keep getting the error message cannot find the computer on the network. I tried all of the above steps and cannot get it to sync on either my iPad or my iPhone. You say its a network setting but up until the recent app update the sync worked fine. Also, with multiple people experiencing the same issue I find it hard to believe we all have the exact same setting that created the problem at the exact time the app was updated. Any help you can provide is appreciated.

I too am having the same issues as well on all my IOS devices: iPad mini III, iPad Air 2 - gold, iPad Air 2 - Space Gray and my iPhone 6 Plus. I have done the reboot and delete app processes on all devices. Initially the wifi sync will function but the IOS app seems to have a mind of its own and starts to merge to combine vault view.
Interesting, when I reset the entire app...I was fast enough to disable the the combine view feature but the app eventually seemed to combine and then left me with a dropbox sync option for two vaults and then letting me sync wifi one vault.
What seems to work is to not sync at all but to track the changes I make on my MacBook Pro and if I need to sync, I need to reset the apps on all the IOS devices in order to merge new data to those devices.
I hope your next update resolves this issue... can we please roll back to the earlier edition of the app? Please! It was perfect.

Having a similar problem. What I have noticed is that the wifi sync not happening automatically. Have to select the vault (in this case primary) and change wifi synch to force a resync over wifi. So:
- Settings
- Vaults
- Primary
- Sync Service
- Change Wi-Fi
- Select Yes to Disable Sync
- Wifi server appears
- Resync from scratch
The Dropbox sync for the secondary vault works with no problems. Look forward to a fix.

@agoubault: I'm sorry to hear that! Unfortunately without some basic information it's hard to say what might be going wrong and how we might right it! Please tell me the OS, 1Password, and device versions you're using, the exact steps you're taking, and what is (or is not) happening the way you expect so we can figure out the best plan of action.
The more information you can give, the better. For instance, are you receiving some error message? Wi-Fi Sync depends entirely on your network environment, so if there's something blocking the connections that will prevent you from syncing successfully. Please let me know what you find. Thanks in advance! :)

@platonium Thanks for posting this. I too have experienced what you describe. The problem is, at least for me, after restarting from scratch, the sync fails and you have to reset the app and start over...but only an issue if you add new passwords to your desktop application. Just reset the IOS app to bring over new data. Just now thinking about this, if the IOS App looses the wifi sync and you create a password on your IOS device, you can't sync back to the desktop 1Password app.

Macbook Pro Retina 13" 2015 Mac OS X 10.11.1
1Password Version 5.4 (540046) Mac App Store
iPad 2 iOS 9.1 (13B143)
1Password version 6.1.1 (611003)
iPhone 5C iOS 9.1 (13B143)
1Password version 6.1.1 (611003)On the Mac, I open the WIFI sync window in prefs. Execution of Wifi server is checked. Secret phrase is displayed and all vaults (4 vaults including main vault) are selected.
On the iPad, I open Settings. In Vaults, I select one vault. only dropbox is shown for synchronization
No error message because just nothing to do. WIFI server (Mac) does not seem to be visible on the iPad.
I tried to reboot all devices (Mac, iPad, router) with no change
Of course, all devices are connected through the same router.
WIFI synchronization is working on the iPhone
Thanks for helping

@agoubault: Thanks so much! I'm sorry that you're still having trouble.
This sounds like there is something blocking the connection, if the devices aren't able to find each other...
No error message because just nothing to do. WIFI server (Mac) does not seem to be visible on the iPad.
WIFI synchronization is working on the iPhoneBut then it sounds like it's working on the iPhone. Is that correct, or was that a typo? Please clarify! Honestly, if its working between the Mac and iPhone, but not the same Mac and iPad the app may simply be damaged there. If so, backing up your data and reinstalling the app will be in order.
However, keep in mind that if you'd previously sync'd with another computer, that may be the problem, as Wi-Fi Sync works between single computer and one or more mobile devices. It isn't possible to have multiple 'pairings'.
Regarding the connection issue, if it still isn't showing up after reinstalling the app, please follow the steps in this guide to check your network configuration, as it will help narrow down the problem:
Wi-Fi troubleshooting
Pay special attention to the "Firewall" and "DHCP" sections, as those are the things most likely to prevent devices from being able to communicate with each other. Please let me know what you find. I look forward to hearing back from you! :)

Not a typo. I confirm it is working fine with the iPhone. Synchronization has only been done between these two devices and the same Mac
I have a look to DHCP and keep you informed. No firewall in my system.
If nothing found, I shall try to reinstall the application on the iPad

@agoubault: There's a built-in firewall, so it wouldn't have to be something you installed. I've seen some strange settings issues there on occasion, seemingly unbeknownst to the user, so definitely double-check that. Often simply toggling it helps. :)

Router: 192.168.1.1
Mac: 192.168.1.24
iPad: 182.168.1.17
iPhone: 192.168.1.26So, no DHCP issue
A firewall is active on the router. I have changed its level from medium to low, but that does not change anything

Hi @agoubault
Could you please try syncing over an ad hoc WiFi network and see if that works?
https://support.1password.com/wifi-adhoc/mac.html
Thanks!
Ben

No way
When I open a vault on the iPad, I only have "Start sync" with dropbox option when I click. On the iPhone, I have a label to tell me that WIFI Sync is enabled and I can start syncing. As if the iPad application definitely banished the WIFI option to sync. But it had worked.
I shall sync my vaults on the iPad using Dropbox. Then, I shall delete all vaults and recreate them from the Mac. I hope this will solve the problem.

Please don't do that. It will not resolve the issue.
Also if you'd like to make a backup I'd recommend following these instructions:
https://support.1password.com/ios-itunes-backups/
The option to sync via WiFi is under 1Password > Settings > Vaults > Primary > Sync Service > Sync using Wi-Fi. Please try setting up the ad hoc network and syncing over WiFi that way.
Thanks!

Now, everything is OK. I did not understand that the synchronization process had to be defined on the principal vault.
So many thanks for your patience and apologize for my bad humor.

Excellent! Thank you for the update, @agoubault. I'm very glad to hear that you've been able to resolve this issue.
So many thanks for your patience and apologize for my bad humor.
No worries at all. I understand how frustrating it can be when software does not work in the way that is expected! That is why we're here. :)
If there is anything else we can do, please don't hesitate to contact us.
