App not retaining Dropbox connection between sessions [lock & unlock (or re-launch) app]

Hello there,

I noticed that you cannot link the software with agilekeychain vault on Dropbox on a Windows phone and a PC at the same time.

In other words, I have both the 1P beta software installed on my Lumia 550 and my Surface 3 Pro, all Under Win10 of course.
When I link the software on my Surface, it is "lost" the next time I launch the software on my phone.
So I have to do the whole pairing process again. Then, if I return to my Surface... it will be lost on my Surface and vice versa: how come?

    Hey @Didiko,

    I'm sorry you're having trouble syncing your accounts with the app, but I'll do my best to try and fix this issue! First things first, we share very little information between different installations of the app. The only thing we share between phone/desktop are changes to settings; everything else should remain specific and unique to the device.

    Before we try to fix this issue, I first want try to isolate the problem and discover what's actually causing it. First, launch the desktop app and check if your vault isn't visible, add it again and wait for all your data to load. Once it's finished, I'd like you to send us a copy of your logs:
    To do so, click on the settings button then click on help

    Next, click on support, then send us your logs for the last 24hours

    Please drop a link to this thread in the email so that we can reference this post.

    Well... I'm not sure if this worked because Nothing happens when I click the menu shown above :-/

    Should this open a new dialog or a mail message?

    Yes, it should, @Didiko, and it works like this on my test platforms: It launches the mail app, addresses a message to our support address, and attaches the log file. You can enter a little information into the body of the message (including a link to this forum thread, for example) and send the message to us.

    Do you have an e-mail client installed and set up on that device? If so, can you send us a test message at support+windowsmodern@agilebits.com with a little word about what it's for?

    Yes I do. It's my Surface 3 Pro Under Windows 10 with the standard mail app (configured on my private mailboxes) and Outlook (configured with my work account). None of them are triggered by this command...

    Actually it's like going to the garage. When you want to show the problem, it isn't there anymore.
    Today, both the phone and the pc seem to be connected to the same account.
    Yesterday was the problem but how can I send yesterday's log?

    The second and third options in that Support menu (on the Help page) should cover it.

    Yes I know but as the command does not trigger the e-mail, I can only copy today's log in the clipboard, right?
    Actually, I just sent now the message from my phone where this feature is working.

  • There is an issue with roaming of settings across devices, sometimes it doesn't sync fast enough. When Dropbox/OneDrive accounts or vaults are suddenly missing there is a good chance that lock/unlock app (or restart app) can fix the issue. We are working on fixing this issue.
