1Password "pausing" since last update (6.2)

Hi, Since the last update (to 6.2) a few days ago 1pwd has been pausing for up to 5 seconds (sometimes with a beachball) when I
a. click on the 1pwd drop-down menu
b. fill a username/password in chrome
c. unlock my primary safe
Any known problems/incompatabilities ?
Any suggestion on what I should try ?
Happy to provide debug/diags/more info as required, but don't want to spam the forum.
Thanks

Same here. Thought that had been fixed in beta, and I'm wishing I could go back to that. 6.2 release version is VERY slow to unlock.

    Hi @Dariush and @pdboyer,

I'm sorry you're experiencing delays in 1Password! Our developers have been looking into an issue which might be the same one you're describing, but it will help if you can clarify a few things for us:

First, you each said you're currently using version 6.2, but the latest stable release is 6.1. Version 6.2 is currently only available as a beta (there have been 2 beta releases of 6.2 so far). Can you please double-check the exact version you're using on your Mac and let us know? From the main 1Password app, go to the menu for 1Password > About 1Password, and you'll find the exact version number there. Please also confirm if you're using the Mac App Store or AgileBits Store version.

Next, is the delay happening when you enter your master password to unlock 1Password mini / 1Password browser extension? Or are you seeing delays happen even if 1Password is already unlocked? After the delay, does 1Password behave correctly? Or does another delay happen if you try to use it again right away?

Finally, can you please reboot your Mac(s) and then see if the same problem happens?

    Thanks in advance! :)

    Hi Drew,

Apologies, the version is 6.1 (610005), not 6.2
I'm using the Agilebits store version (ie a traditional installer, not via the AppStore)
The delay happens intermittently when I go to unlock iPassword mini, when I go to 1Password mini to select a login, when I hit cmd-\ to auto-fill a a login. In all cases I'd estimate it happens approx 50% of the time.
I've got approx 150 login items in the dropdown.
    I've re-installed the chrome plugin.
The Mac has had a couple of reboots in the last few days for other reasons, the problem persists.
I'll post back here if I observe any other patterns.
    Thanks
    Dariush

  • Hi Everyone,

This is a known issue and we're hoping that we can get it fixed before 6.2.

The current workaround when it gets annoying is to restart both 1Password and 1Password mini (a reboot of your system would make sure that both are restarted). That should get it working nicely for a while. That's obviously not a long term solution... like I said, we want this fixed.

In 1Password 6.2.BETA-2 some extra code went in that should hopefully get us more information about what's causing this. If anyone is running 6.2.BETA-2 and hits this issue, please Create a Diagnostics Report. Email it to support+forums@agilebits.com and include a link to this forum thread. If you mention "Rick Fillion" in the email I should automatically get notified. I'm still waiting for the first diagnostics reports to come in.
