On my new computer, iCloud is not an option for retrieving 1Password data.

I purchased a new computer, and want to transfer my 1Password info to it. I have most current version of 1Password (6.1) on my old and new computers. Both computers are running the same Mac OS (10.11.3), and both have iCloud Drive active with the same iCloud account.
On my old computer, I have turned on iCloud sync in 1 Password, and it has synced several times. On my new computer, when I open 1Password, I select "Already have 1Password data somewhere else?" on the opening page. However, on the next page, iCloud is not listed as an option to retrieve my 1Password data. The only options are Dropbox, This Mac, Another device, and Restore from backup. How can I set up 1Password on my new computer?

  • Hi Bryan,

I'm sorry you ran into this problem with the first run window on the AgileStore version of 1Password.

We've fixed this in the coming 6.2 update so that you can choose to restore from iCloud. Until then you'll want to follow these instructions to get re-connected with your vault on iCloud.

To get you back up and running you'll want to:
    1. pick create a new vault on the new mac, set its master password to be the same as what you have on the other machine
    2. open to the Preferences window from the 1Password menu
    3. click on the Sync tab
    4. click on the Primary vault under the sync tab
    5. click on the pop-up button to specify you want to sync with iCloud.
    6. it should now open a web page to iCloud requesting you to approve the iCloud authentication request
    7. you should now see your passwords show up from iCloud as they start syncing to your new mac.

let us know if this gets you back up and running, or if you have any other questions.
