Hi @kziedman,
Sorry for the mix-up! We've just edited that article to add more information and our knowledgebase's search function doesn't seem to have caught up with the change yet.
You didn't specify what version of 1Password you're using, and I'm going to make the assumption that when you typed "OSX 10.5.5" you actually meant 10.10.5 (Yosemite), so here's how to change your Master Password in 1Password 6 for Mac:
- Open and unlock 1Password.
- From the menu bar, choose 1Password > Preferences > Security.
- Click “Change Master Password" and fill in the information requested.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if I've made an incorrect assumption about the version you're using, or if you have any other questions. :)

I am indeed using MAC OS 10.10.5 and 1Pass v.6.1 My problem is that I don't know what "menu bar" is being referred to.
If I unlock and open the 1Pass symbol on the top menu bar, there is no preferences option. The only reference to 1Pass in my applications folder opens the same options. Maybe the installation wasn't complete? Thanks.0 -
Hi @kziedman,
Thanks for following up, and I'm sorry I wasn't clearer. The menu bar is at the very top of your computer screen. With the main 1Password application open, you'll see a few menus at the top of your screen. Starting from the left, the first one is an Apple symbol, then you should see: 1Password (or 1Password 6), File, Edit, View, Item, Window, and Help.
So click the menu called either 1Password (if you bought it from the Mac App Store) or 1Password 6 (if you downloaded it from our website), and select Preferences from that menu, then the Security tab in the Preferences screen.
Does this make a bit more sense?
