I'm totally confused. I purchased 1Password and then recently I took up the offer of 6 months ...
free membership. I don't know whether or not that was a sensible thing to do; maybe I've set myself up to pay twice for the same thing. Today i have received an email telling me that my free trial of families is about to expire and credit card details are requested. I'd be very grateful if you would let me know exactly what I am paying for.

Hi @ifor - Sorry for the confusion and I'll do my best to help out. Thank you for supporting us over the years, we really appreciate it. So it looks like you signed up for a 1Password Families account back in February.
1Password Families is separate from the standalone licenses you have purchased from us in the past. When you sign up for a Families plan you have the ability to invite up to 5 family members per subscription. Each family member has access all of our apps (Windows, Mac, Android and iOS). You can even view your 1Password data via the web from any device. There is no sync set up required since we take care of all the syncing on our end. Each family member by default receives a Personal & Shared vault. Personal vaults can only be accessed by that member, not by you or anyone else. All members also get access to a Shared vault, and you can create additional vaults to share with specific members and manage things a bit more. We include a 30 day free trial giving you a chance to test drive all the features before having to pay for anything.
You mentioned "6 months free membership", did you try to take advantage of a promotion we were offering, I'll be more than happy to help if you can clarify a bit more. Did you receive our newsletter? I'm trying to get a better understanding and I look forward to hearing back from you so we can get this squared away :+1:

Hi Frank, thanks for coming to the rescue. Yes, I received the newsletter and followed the link for the gift (which couldn't be a tee shirt). It must have been at this time that I signed up for Families understanding I was getting 6 months free.

Thanks Frank. I have questions about syncing. I still have my agile keychain in Dropbox, but I now have this new one too. Where is the new one stored? Do I need to keep the one I have in Dropbox? If I do keep it, do they both get updated or is it just the new one that gets updated?

Hi @ifor - That's a fantastic question! One of the benefits of signing up for a 1Password Families account, we take care of all the syncing and backups on our end. Your new Personal vault will replace your Primary vault going forward. When you add a new item to your Personal vault (as long as you've added the account to your existing apps) the item will sync across your devices including the web. As long as you've migrated over your existing 1Password data there is no need manage Dropbox anymore :+1: I hope this helped and keep the questions coming, we're happy to assist.

I'm not sure if I have the same issue but it sounds like I might. I had a working 1Password for FAMILIES. But then I tried the Teams option I was offered for a while. Now that has expired. And I don't want to pay monthly, I'd like to continue to use my old 1Password. But I'm locked out.

Hi lizapascal - Thank you for reaching out to us. I just sent you over an email so we can work on this together. Since this is a public forum it will be easier to continue the conversation over there. Reply back to my email when you get a chance :-)
