1Password 7 - Window size regularly reset
Hello,
I have 1Password 7 installed on both my old Mac Pro and my MacBook Pro, and on both Macs the main window size & position and columns width of 1Password are quite often (not always) reset. I would say this problem happens every 1 on 4 launches.
This bug has now become really irritating.
Thank you in advance to Agilebits for fixing this annoying bug.
Apart from this, I still love 1Password and could live without.
Regards,
Antoine

Hi Kevin,
Yes always the same position/size.
And IIRC it is the same position/size where it was at first launch after initial install.
It looks as if the window is reset at the "factory" value when this happens.Antoine

@Raca - what that means is that on those occasions, 1Password isn't able to get the last saved value for the window position.
So it's falling back to the default position. I'm not quite sure why that would be - on two different Macs - but since it doesn't happen to me over many, many restarts/relaunches/even resets, I'm thinking this is potentially a conflict with something else you have installed on both your Macs...? What I'd like you to do is wait until the next time this occurs, then create some diagnostics reports, one from each of your devices:Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to

Ok Lars.
I'll do that.0 -
After creating this current post, the problem does not seem to happen anymore... :)

1Password 7 user here (7.0.5.BETA-0 70005000) with the same problem. Had this problem since upgrading to version 7, then it seemed to have gone away with no explantation. Then after the latest update, it came back. Every time I open the app (either a fresh launch or just reopen a new window) it resets to a small window that's centered in the screen. The columns are re-sized as well.

Ok so, just updated to 7.0.5.BETA-1 (build #70005001) and the problem seems gone again.

I can also confirm that this problem keeps creeping back. It happened again for me a couple of days ago right after updating another app via the Mac App Store. This may just have been a coincidence though.
When it happens, I have been able to fix the problem by first quitting 1Password completely and then repairing permissions with the 1Password troubleshooting utility.
I do hope you can figure out what is causing the problem, though. It is quite annoying.

Happened again. Diagnostic report sent.

After reading again my first post, I realized that I've made a bad mistake in my last sentence.
Of course I wanted to write "Apart from this, I still love 1Password and could NOT live without" !
Sorry for that.0 -
Hi Lars,
Problem is I got 1Password on the App Store and I prefer to stay on the App Store.0 -
Recurring problem and most irritating. As said above, it happens randomly, average about once in 4 or 5 "opens". Always the same, small window centered on the screen instead of my size and position. This has been occurring with me, on two Macs now, for every version from the initial release of 7 up to 7.0.4 which I now run (AgileBits store version).

Hi @HenryAZ
Would you mind trying the latest beta, v7.0.5-b2, and see if this issue persists?

I've also observed this behavior on two MacBook Pros with 1Password 7.0.4 running under macOS Sierra 10.12.6. I will live with it until 7.0.5 is released, then see if that fixes the issue. (I'd prefer to wait for a stable release.)

Version 7.0.5.BETA-3 (70005003)
Back again... was fine for several days. Just reappeared. Doesn't seem related to an update, since it just started this morning at 10:45AM ET.

I should probably mention I am now using the Public Beta of Mojave (18A314k), previous problems occurred on High Sierra 13.4.
But it was completely fine on Mojave since install (about 2 days ago). So, doesn't seem to be specific to macOS Version.

@Apophis - thanks for letting us know. It's much harder for us to pin down if you're using multiple betas, though we do appreciate knowing that something which was working on one version of OS isn't on another. We're still working on this one, so keep an eye on updates and release notes. Thanks! :)

This has been working as expected since the official release of 1P7 but it just regressed as soon as I updated to 1P7 v. 7.0.6. Now it just refuses to remember the size and positioning of the main window.

@OAW thanks for letting us know. I’d like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

Hi @JadC
I'm seeing the issue continue to occur, even after updating to 7.0.7. I'm observing this on two Macs. Would you like me to send a diagnostics report (following the instructions to OAW), too?
Any other things you would like me to try, such as deleting certain caches? Please let me know.

This morning, the problem occurred once. Then didn't occur the next few times I opened 1Password 7.0.7. And now, it just happened again.
Circumstances for the latest occurrence: I left my Mac to back up to Time Machine. No apps were running. When I returned 30-40 minutes later, TimeMachine had completed and my Mac had gone to sleep. I woke up the Mac, launched and read Mail, launched 1Password 7.0.7, and the 1Password login screen appeared in the default size and default location (center of display). I entered my master password, and set 1Password window to the (larger) size and location (upper left of display) I want.
After I wrote the last sentence, I made 1Password the active application, locked it, quit it, and launched it. This time, the login window was the size I had set it to and appeared in the location I left it.
If I generate a diagnostics file to send you, when should I generate it? Immediately after launching 1Password and seeing the login window in the default size/location? At that point, should I not touch 1Password until after I generate the diagnostics report?
I'm running 1Password 7.0.7 under macOS Sierra 10.12.6 on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013).

Follow up: After adding a new entry to 1Password 7.0.7, and after 1Password had been open for a while, I locked it and quit it, then launched it again. The login window was in the default size and location. So it appears the problem is not triggered by the Mac going to sleep.

Happened again on 7.0.7 (MAS edition). This time it was enough to quit 1Password completely and reopen in order to fix it. But the bug is definitely still there in 7.0.7.

And 1Password currently keeping resetting the window on every launch right now.
Tired of resizing. Will see on next OS session if it continues...0
