How to Recover Damaged Entry
Hi,
I recently had a problem where I thought I needed to restore a 1Password entry from the previous day because it was corrupted. I use Macrium Reflect to back up my complete data drive every night so I have every file on the drive available. I thought that I could stop 1Password, restore folder C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local\1Password\data to it's state the day before, disconnect the LAN, start 1Password, select the entry (now yesterday's version), export it, connect the LAN and let 1Password bring the 1Password DB up to date, delete the entry, and then import the file I just exported.
It turned out I didn't have to do that, but if I do sometime will this procedure work?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi @MikeA01730,
If you use 1Password account in 1Password 7 for Windows, there is a simper way to revert to a previous version of an item or restore a deleted item. With a 1Password membership account, 1Password saves previous versions of items every time you make changes, so you can undo your changes. Here is how:
View and restore previous versions of items
Could you please give it a try and let me know if this is what you want to achieve? Thanks! :+1:

Greg,
I followed the simple instructions from the link. Specifically I run the 1Password client, open the vault, and select the item of interest. Then I'm supposed to click “View item history”. The problem is I don't see that anywhere. I may be missing something that's obvious to everyone else but I've tried every menu, looked all over the screen, entered Edit mode, and clicked and right-clicked on everything. I also tried this using the web site but couldn't find it there either.
Where is this button or menu choice?
Thanks,

Hi @MikeA01730,
You have to do it on your https://my.1Password.com website as the instructions said. This is not available in any 1Password apps, only the website.
It is in the item's details view like this:

MikeT,
Got it. I couldn't find it because I was looking at a random entry that had never been changed, and you only show the button if there's something to recover.
For future reference, are there any other features that are available only on the web site?
Thanks,

Hi @MikeA01730,
We automatically show it if there is more than one version. If you don't see it, that means there were no changes synced to your 1Password account. That would imply it was never pushed from your local devices or it did but rejected. Even rejected, we would merge them in before pushing again as a new version.
For future reference, are there any other features that are available only on the web site?
- Managing vaults and permissions for them (create new vaults for yourself, family members or guests, manage access for each one). You can also customize icons for your vaults, names, descriptions, etc.
- Viewing archived items (in case you accidentally emptied the trash and need to restore them, we keep up to a year's worth).
- Billing stuff
- Travel Mode (https://support.1password.com/travel-mode/)
- Enable beta features when they're available, which is dependent on your 1Password plan. For an example, the 1Password Business plan has two beta features in development that lets you create custom templates and send items to another teammate without using a vault.
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication (https://support.1password.com/two-factor-authentication/)
