1Password for Safari asking for password every time on iOS 16.1 or later

1P_Dave it’s not just the biometrics. The timer is also still broken.

I have require password set for 2 weeks on both my phone and iPad. They were both required today but keychain fills them in so even on the 2 week setting I don’t actually have to manually enter my password into the app or Safari extension. Other than the every 2 weeks Face ID has worked perfectly. I was skeptical and hesitated installing version 8 for quite a while but so far I’ve been very pleased.

1P_Dave I understand that software development can be a complex and tricky thing. However with Face ID, Touch ID, Safari Extension, not being able to move sections and fields. I think you're asking an awful lot of paying customers to put up with these problems for months on end for a product that does not function as is advertised. These problems go back for months and all we seem to get is the occasional "Send a diagnostic" (How many do you need?), "We're aware of this issue" or best of all to suggest workarounds to your customers simply because the product does not work. I have now downgraded both my phone, my iPad, my wife's and sons phones and iPads to 1P7. Ridiculous.
These problems are affecting many of your customers and it doesn't seem like the people at 1P want to do the bare minimum and comment regularly (once a month?) about what is going on. I have been a customer for a good while and I have posted more in the last month or so than in the previous past 10 years. This sure doesn't seem like the 1Password of old.
A very disappointed paying customer.

Hello everyone. Our developers are still investigating the issue. The team understands how important biometric unlock is and are continuing to look into this. For the moment, if the issue does reoccur please try the steps mentioned previously in the thread:
- Fully close Safari on iOS
- Open and unlock the main 1Password app from your home screen.
- Manually lock the app by tapping on the icon in the top left corner of the Home screen and then tap Lock.
- Unlock the main 1Password 8 app using your account password (not Face ID).
- Open Safari and try to unlock the 1Password extension using Face ID.
If these steps don't work, or if you've tried the steps previously and the issue came back, then we'd like to gather more information about the situation on your iOS device to add to the internal work item for the issue:

AMonitorDarkly I agree. It’s pretty sad that support doesn’t even follow up.

Anyone have any feedback when this months long issue will get some real attention and get fixed?

more_cowbell Given that the FaceID bug is still alive and kicking after 4 months, I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

The issue went away for a bit after following the delete and reinstall procedure but it’s back to its old ways again.
