Biometrics not working for chrome extension
Hi,
I am trying to get biometrics to work on my 1password chrome browser extension but I keep seeing the message that there is an "Integration Status: Connection Problem" and to make sure the 1Password app is unlocked. The settings for touch ID are enabled and I've never had issues before but after turning on a few privacy (no 3rd party cookies) features and updating my macbook to macOS Tahoe, I can't unlock the extension with my biometrics.
I've already gone and made sure touch ID has been enabled on the app, extension, web browser and my laptop and that everything is up to date. I've turned on a few privacy features for chrome and chrome profiles to block 3rd party cookies disable web & app monitoring while also enabling advanced protection program so I hope that wasn't the cause. What steps should I take to resolve this?
Thanks,
David

Hello d_t271β! π
I'm sorry that Touch ID unlock isn't working when you're using 1Password in Chrome. Are you able to unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app using Touch ID? If you are then it sounds like the issue is due to the communication between 1Password in the browser and the desktop app (that is responsible for Touch ID) not working. Try these steps:
- Restart your Mac (don't skip this step).
- Open and unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app.
- Click on 1Password next to the Apple logo ο£Ώ in the menu bar.
- Click Settings.
- Click Browser.
- Make sure that "Connect with 1Password in the browser" is on.
Then in the browser:- Open your browser.
- Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
- Turn "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" off.
- Turn "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" back on.
If that still doesn't work then do you see a green dot in the browser settings page? Or a different coloured dot and an error message? And if you click on About in the browser settings page what version of 1Password do you see listed?-Dave

Are you sure you're not inadvertently blocking chrome-extensions:// or 1password related domains with the cookie or privacy blocking? (Just thinking out loud)
