Chrome /Iphone

Hello. I’m running 1Password 6.3.2 on my iPhone running OS 18.6.2. I had a catastrophic loss of my iPhone and all data. New iPhone now with Chrome as primary browser. I can’t figure out how to get the 1Password extension into Chrome so when I create sign in and passwords on new websites it will ask me if I want to save in 1Password. I do not want keychains or browsers storing logins.

thanks and sorry if this happens to be an exhaustive question.

Thank you for posting the screenshots! It looks like you're already running 1Password version 8, you just have an item saved in your 1Password vault titled "1Password 6", this might be a license for a previous version.

Since 1Password 8 is already installed on your iPhone, the next step is to make sure that it works with iOS AutoFill so that you can fill your login credentials into Chrome. Follow these steps:

    1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
    2. Tap General > AutoFill & Passwords.
    3. Turn on AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys.
    4. Turn on 1Password.

Then follow the steps in this guide to fill your login in Chrome: Fill a login

  • Circled is 6.3.2 but now I realize that that is probably just in a vault maybe? I can’t find any other area to see if the app is 6 or 8 if that makes any sense?

That’s the pic from the App Store.

  • Hi Dave and thank you for your reply. I went to the App Store to download 8 and it just shows the “open” tab. Click on that of course the App Store sends me to version 6 on my phone. 🙄.

    next step to try?

Welcome to the community! I'm sorry that you lost the data on your old iPhone and I'm happy to help you get started on your new iPhone. As a start, 1Password 6 is no longer supported and hasn't been updated or tested in many years. I recommend that you upgrade to 1Password 8: Upgrade to 1Password 8

Once you've upgraded, you can follow these steps to set 1Password as your default password manager for iOS AutoFill for all apps including Chrome: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad

Let me know if you run into any issues.
