Delete Tag

How do I completely delete a tag from 1Password Mac?

Thank you for the reply. Are you referring to the auto-complete menu that provides a list of tag suggestions when adding a tag to an item? I just tested this myself and deleting a tag removed it from the auto-complete menu.

Let me know if I misunderstood your question or if you're seeing different behaviour. :)

1P_Dave - will this remove from the auto-complete as well? I'm trying to normalize my tag schema (using all lower case one word tags) but the old tags I used (uppercase or with spaces) that are no longer assigned still popup as suggestions.

  • Hello BillW78! 👋

You can permanently delete a tag by using the 1Password for Mac app:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.
    2. In the sidebar scroll down to where your tags are listed.
    3. Right-click on a tag and then click Delete.

This will untag all of the items currently tagged with that tag and then permanently delete the tag. Let me know if you have any questions. :)
