3 years agoFace ID Not Working [Fixed. Please see the approved answer for details.]

I have upgraded to 1Password 8 for Mac. Yesterday I had to re-set my iPhone settings and since then I cannot use Face ID to open 1Password. I have re-installed the 1Password app, checked to make sure 1Password is approved for using Face ID on my phone. Can you advise?

Hi, Grey,
I've tried various settings in both of those to work around the "Face ID doesn't work on the iPhone".
I was told they have a fix that will be released in the next update.

Hi there @kurious
You can set "Auto-lock on exit" to a maximum of
8 hours
in the Security section of 1Password's Settings on your iPhone. The2 weeks
you mentioned refers to how long Face ID or Touch ID would work before prompting you for your account password as a reminder. It can be set to2 weeks
,30 days
, orNever
, but won't have any impact in keeping 1Password unlocked.Please let me know if you have any questions, or would like any further help. :)

@pappjo you haven’t answered my question about which iOS version you are using on your device.
BTW, I have never reset my iPhone, I have rebooted it to ensure the removal of an app is completely removed or to reset my cellular network. - Former Member

Removing a vault is something I’m vaguely aware of but I don’t want to create a problem for you. Hopefully they’ll get back to you soon.

PappJo Do you know this answer because I can't get a response to my other question please. How do I remove an empty vault from 1Password 8 for iOS on my iPhone.
By the way, I changed the time between having to enter passwords and it didn't help. I also got an email from Support stating that they have a fix and it will be in the next update.

I didn't reset anything. I just shut it down but it didn't help. I don't have this problem on my iPad mini 5. I have the iPhone set to ask for the password after two weeks, but I'm prompted immediately to enter it. I decided to turn Face ID back on. No change.

I haven’t personalized mine yet!😃 But try changing that interval. There were previous reports that the 2 week setting wasn’t being adhered to and some got it to work by changing that to one week. Maybe the 30 days creates some issue. So far 2 weeks works on both my phone and ipad. And whatever you do don’t reset all settings on your phone, that seems to be the common factor in almost all these complaints. I’ve never done that on any device and have not had any such issue with 1PW. Although I waited quite a while to migrate to 1PW 8 because of reading through these complaints. But I’ve had no problems since doing so.
