Firefox Browser Extension Release Lags Behind Others
This was one of the threads on the old community system that didn't make the cut. (Aside -- I still fail to understand why ANY data had to be dropped. I had some old posts from years ago come over but some from a few months ago not. Bizarre.)
The 8.10.60 browsers extensions were released on 2025.02.04. The Chrome one always comes out almost instantly after the main app release. The Safari extension comes out a couple of days later. But the Mozilla Firefox extension always lags far, far behind. As of this writing on 2025.02.14 almost week and a half later, it's still not out.
Is there anything the 1P folks can do to prod their Mozilla pals to verify and push their extensions out faster?
Hello BLD! 👋
Thanks for reaching out! The submission and review process for each browser's web store is different and you might see updates make it to certain browsers faster than others. We'll continue to work with our friends at Mozilla to get you the latest updates as soon as possible.
I've confirmed that 8.10.60 is now available from the Firefox Add-ons store: 1Password: Password Manager

It has been something I have brought up a few times. It all boils down to Firefox has a smaller team that vets their extensions and you need that seal of approval to be compliant.
There have been times that it takes so long a new build is uploaded for checking and they approve the new one.So the builds are being made at the same time as the chrome ones, we just get stuck waiting for Firefox to ok the builds.

Yes, I have noticed new builds coming in before the prior one has been approved too.
Given the regular cadence of your updates and your reputation, can't you folks establish a reputation at Mozilla to fast track these, especially by providing a set of diffs against the prior code? Your point about a smaller team at Mozilla I'm sure is on point -- but almost 2 weeks and sometimes more to approve updates to an existing extension with a long history from a well established and trusted company seems unreasonable. At least in your shoes that is the point I would be making to Mozilla.

Firefox browser extension 8.10.60.27 finally posted today -- almost two weeks later. In 1P's shoes, I'd be complaining.

I wanted to correct a small typo above -- the old board used to let me edit messages within a certain time frame after posting. Looks like that feature is missing from the new system. :-(

Hey, the Firefox extension works while the Safari extension is a dumpster fire, so on the whole...

Not really relevant to this discussion —but fwiw the Safari extension works fine for me with the exception of one bug: it doesn’t fully unlock with the main app (just requires an extra click, not another password enter — but still annoying). The 1P engineers have been able to reproduce it for awhile but still no fix — another thread from the old community site that got dropped. 😔
