Integration with “AutoFill & Passwords” in MacOS

In iOS, it’s super easy to make the 1Password app the default password manager for the whole OS. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be possible to do this on a Mac.

Is this feature already available? If not, when can we expect to see it?

  • Hello Ben! 👋

Thanks for reaching out! 1Password doesn't use the "AutoFill & Passwords" feature in macOS System Settings so you won't see it listed there. Instead you can save and fill your login credentials using one of the following methods:

I recommend that you turn off the "AutoFill & Passwords" feature in macOS Settings to avoid conflicts and then make sure that the built-in password manager is also turned off in your browser: Turn off the built-in password manager in your browser

I can't say whether the "AutoFill & Passwords" feature will be supported in the future but I'll pass along your comments to the team internally that this is something that you'd like to see. Thank you for the feedback!
