Unable to sign in to a Google account using a saved passkey
Neither Google nor Microsoft offers me to use passkey as a sign in method.
Am I doing it wrong ?
Thanks

SOLVED
After many issues with this. I decided to try creating a passkey on an old google account with very little on it. nothing more than basic password entry. The 1p passkey worked well. I then went back to my main account and same problem. I deleted all of the URLs on the account in 1p and deleted the passkey both in 1p and google. I then recreated the passkey on the main account and now it has started working for the first time on the main account. Its not clear to me by 1p wasnt trigerring in the first instance. the URL in the login profile on 1p or if its the new passkey itself. But now google seem to know to go to 1p for the passkey when it didnt before.

Tech glitches can be a bit frustrating, but don't worry – we've all been there at some point! 😅 When it comes to using passkeys for sign-ins, it might be worth checking if the option is available in your account settings. Sometimes, these things can vary based on your device or account type.

I just tried it on Chrome for Android and it kind of works. Instead of getting the appropriate login info though, I just get "open 1password". However, I just noticed that really the same thing happens on Chrome, but it still doesn't appear until I do the multitasking trick

I have the same problem that Passkeys fill does not work in incognito Chrome. It does work in normal Chrome windows.

I have tested on Chrome, Edge and Firefox. All have the identical problem. Might be worth making the point that the prompt that comes up appears like a windows prompt rather than from the browser
Is anyone from the 1password team able to comment?
Thanks

Passkeys were working for me on Chrome, but now they aren't after the July 3rd beta update. Before 1Password would at least receive and store the passkey, Google just wouldn't request it on sign-in. Now Edge grabs the passkey and stores it, even though I have Edge password management disabled, and 1Password doesn't detect that I created a passkey.

I just tried again on Chrome on Windows 11. Latest version of both. Still not working

telephoneman2 - It worked for me in Chrome. I don't feel like logging out of everything to try it in Edge (which is my primary browser).

Now it works for me on Mac. Not sure if this is cause by change on google side or update on 1Password extension side?

Hi @dwk. Strange. My browsers are set to clear cookies when they close and I'm always offered a passkey sign in after startup. In Windows it uses Window Hello for passkey and on macOS it uses 1Password. I generally use Edge.
