Can I use my Synology NAS instead of Dropbox to sync passwords?

I currently use Dropbox to sync 1Password data between my two computers, iPhone and iPad. Since I have my own NAS from Synology I was wondering if I could change to this instead of using Dropbox to sync such passwords?

    Hi @Hoggorm

    We do not support using a NAS to sync 1Password data; sorry. Dropbox or 1Password.com would be your best bet.

    1Password.com would be a subscription service, correct?

    I hope you will consider supporting a NAS in the future. After all, personal passwords should be kept close, and not be handed over to commercial companies...

    Indeed they should, @Hoggorm – that's why we don't sync your passwords at all. Encryption happens locally and only you have your keys so we have no way of accessing those passwords even if we wanted to (nor can Dropbox when you're using their service to sync for that matter). :+1:
