  • Hi @Nix,

Sorry to hear Touch ID isn't working as expected. Please try these steps:

    1. Restart your Mac, then open and unlock 1Password 7 for Mac.
    2. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Touch ID.
    3. Turn off all of the features, then turn all of them back on.
    4. In 1Password, choose 1Password > Preferences from the menu bar.
    5. Click Security, then turn off the Touch ID setting and turn it back on again.
    6. Choose 1Password > Lock from the menu bar.

If the issue persists, please let me know which version of macOS you're using and we'll go from there. 🙂

I've encountered the same issue on version 8.9.4. I've tried @andrew.l_1P's debugging steps, to no avail.

I have also encountered the same issue. Also, the browser version is taking forever to load and it will simply NOT allow me to unlock with my finger print. The mini browser ver is 2.3.8. This is a truly annoying issue.

If Touch ID isn't even showing up in System Preferences, then you may need to talk to Apple to troubleshoot that first. 1Password can only use Touch ID to unlock if the system recognises it and we won't be able to do anything about it not showing up in System Preferences. Check if there is a new version of macOS available for your Mac. Sometimes, Touch ID becomes unavailable when a new update has been downloaded but not installed. Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

If you're using the latest publicly-available version of macOS for your Mac and you're still having trouble, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

⚠️ Don't post your diagnostics report here.

    With your email, please include:

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

With help from support, I uninstalled 1Password and removed all local data per these instructions. Uninstalling alone did not work, but wiping all local data did.

  • Thanks for updating us @ravon I'm glad to hear your going again.
