1Password 8 not accepting password. 1Password 7 OK
I have just upgraded from MacBook Pro to Mac mini Pro. (Apple M2 Pro)
1Password 7 was OK on the new computer, but then crashed. Reloaded - OK
1Password 8 won't even take the password - It just says try again.

This would be from within 1Password 8. The advanced tab. Here's a screenshot that may help. It sounds as if you might have been in the menu bar at the top of the screen while using 1Password 7.

I tried that, but failed at the "Send Diagnostics" <4> stage. Advanced only has Menu Items (Copy UUID) and Copy JSON; Integrations (Enable Spotlight and 3rd part app integrations); Sorting and Local Vaults. None are ticked.

I thinking that most likely something happened to the database. I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your device. I feel fairly certain it's a database issue that we need to reset but let's not go tinkering under the hood without a sound troubleshooting report to guide us.
- Open 1Password.
- Press command and comma. The 1Password preferences will open.
- Tap Advanced.
- Click Send Diagnostics.
- Click Reveal to locate the report in your downloads folder.
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to
support+forum@1password.com

Please do not post your diagnostic report to the forum. This is for your privacy and security.
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

You describe old and new computer. Did you restore via Time Machine or other backup method to the newer device?
