I'm getting the exact same issue, but on Windows instead, is it worth me submitting a new issue or sticking to this one?
I'm running the 1Password Windows beta 8.10.12 (81012010), and I've checked the "Keep 1Password in the notification area" setting which is turned on.

Hello @Ballistix09,
Thanks for your message. I'm sorry for the troubles you've been encountering with 1Password in the browser connecting with the 1Password for Windows desktop app as expected.
Could you confirm that app integration is enabled in the extension?
1. Open your browser, right-click the 1Password icon in the address bar, and choose Settings.
1. Under the General heading, enable Integrate with 1Password app as needed. If this didn't help, let us know and we can try some additional steps.

@ag_mike_d Hey there! The toggle is enabled in the extension settings, but it's saying underneath:
"Problems connecting. Please ensure the 1Password app is unlocked". Both the app and extension are currently unlocked though.
This is on the Edge extension, version 2.14.0.
