Auto Fill not triggering for some apps
Auto Fill is not populating for some apps on iOS but works fine on Android. For example: Blue Wallet works flawlessly in Android but does not trigger on iOS. As far as I can tell, only Android apps are populating under the "Linked Apps" category.

Hello @joshray! 👋
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble filling a login into certain apps. On the iPhone AutoFill is specifically handled by iOS and 1Password only provides the data for the experience.
When you tap on the username or password field in the BlueWallet app, do you see "Passwords" appear above your keyboard? If you don't then I would like you to make sure that you have turned on AutoFill to work with 1Password:
- On the Home screen, tap Settings.
- Tap Passwords > Password Options.
- Turn on AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys.
- Select 1Password.
Then try to fill your login again using this guide: Use 1Password to fill and save on your iPhone and iPad
If this doesn't work then can you tell me a little more about what isn't working? Do you see the Passwords prompt above your keyboard when you tap on the username/password prompt in the BlueWallet app?

Greetings,
The Auto Fill option (Passwords) is displayed on the keyboard. But when tapped it doesn't show a password available. I have to manually search for it. When the same thing happens in Android, the password is auto filled.

Thanks for the reply. I can see how the current behaviour is not ideal for the particular app that you're having trouble with. AutoFill is specifically handled by iOS and 1Password is unable to control which fields get filled when you tap on an item since 1Password only provides the data for the experience.
Password AutoFill will match the apps that you use to your login items in 1Password by taking the associated domain associated with an app and comparing it against the website URL in your login items. If there is a match then Password AutoFill will offer to fill your login information. If you don't see Fill & Update Login when you search for and tap on a Login Item then it means that the developer of that app hasn't added an associated domain and there is nothing for Password AutoFill to use to match the app to a Login item in 1Password. This means that you'll need to search for the correct Login item.
Since you're not seeing a login suggestion in 1Password after tapping on the "Passwords" prompt above your keyboard, and AutoFill isn't filling your password into the app when you search for and select the login manually, I recommend that you reach out to the developer of the app to have them investigate this further. It sounds like they need to add support for AutoFill to their app. Forwarding the following articles can help:

Let me know if you have any questions. 🙂

I’m having a similar issue. I understand that the app may not associate a url correctly and in those cases I just search for the relevant login information. But I’m finding that for apps in general the “password” button above the keyboard isn’t even triggered at all for logins and when it comes to entering cc info in app- there is no trigger from one password at all.

Hi @ace222 - if you're not seeing the "🔑 Passwords" button above your keyboard when a password field is focused in specific apps, then this would usually indicate that iOS Password AutoFill has not detected that the sign-in form is fillable. This is something that only the app developers will be able to fix, I'd recommend providing feedback to them so that they can ensure their app is compatible with iOS Password AutoFill.
iOS Password AutoFill isn't able to fill credit card items, so you won't see the "🔑 Passwords" button when entering your credit card details in apps on your iOS devices. You can copy and paste credit card details from the main 1Password app as needed.
If you're using Safari, you can autofill credit card details using 1Password for Safari: ☞ Get to know 1Password for Safari on your iPhone or iPad

Thanks for the reply.
I didn’t say I was expecting the password button to show when entering cc info. However, when I am entering cc info into a website I will see list of available cc info to use from one password, and I never ever see inside an app.

Thanks for the reply. 1Password for iOS uses Apple's iOS Password AutoFill to fill logins into apps on the iPhone and iPad and currently this system only allows for the filling or usernames and passwords, not credit cards.
You'll need to copy and paste your credit card information from 1Password into the app in question: Copy and fill passwords into apps that don't work with 1Password
If you're using Safari, then you can use the browser extension which is able to fill credit card information: Get to know 1Password for Safari on your iPhone or iPad
I hope that helps. 🙂

Thanks for the question! When you tap on the username or password field in an app you'll see the Password AutoFill prompt appear (above the keyboard), and if you tap on that prompt then you'll see a screen that includes a section labeled
PASSWORDS FOR [website address]
. This website address is the app’s associated domain. If you don't see this section then it means that the app doesn't have an associated domain and you'll need to search for the correct login to fill into the app.
Let me know if you have any questions. 🙂
