I can't create or use 1password Passkeys on Android. I only get a popup from Google's password manager even though I have autofill service set to 1password.

My specs:
Android 14
OnePlus Nord 3

1Password Version: 8.10.32
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: Android 14

  • Hello @KUBEX! 👋

I'm sorry that you're unable to save and fill passkeys on your Android device. I know that you said that you've already set the autofill service to 1Password but can you double-check that you've followed all the steps in our autofill setup guide: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your Android device

If that still doesn't work then can you tell me if you're unable to use passkeys in any Android app? Or just in a browser like Chrome or Brave?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I triple checked and I have everything set-up as intended. The problem is in any app not just in a browser

I'm sorry that you're still not able to save and sign in using passkeys on your Android device. I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Android device:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Android)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

    Please send the entire file.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

Having exactly the same problem as OP. Google prompt keeps popping up. I've reset the "autofill" settings a couple of times.

I'm sorry that you're also running into an issue. If you sent in a diagnostics report using the instructions in my previous post then the team can take a look as well.

I would also check in Chrome flags for chrome://flags/#web-authentication-android-credential-management and see if trying the option for "Enabled for Google Password manager and 3rd party passkeys" does a difference.

Also having the same problem as OP. Google prompt keeps popping up. I've also reset the "autofill" settings and set the chrome flags to Enabled for Google Password manager and 3rd party passkeys. I'm running Android 15 on pixel 7
