Won't customize Icons

Hello @neesparz! 👋
Thank you for reaching out! Are you using 1Password.com in the browser on your Windows PC? If you are then I'd recommend installing the desktop app which will allow you to customize your icons:
Using the desktop app you can customize an item's icon by following these steps:
- Open and unlock the 1Password desktop app.
- Click on the item that you'd like to edit and then click Edit.
- Click on the down arrow under the item's icon and choose the image that you'd like to add.
- Save the item.
Let me know if that works. 🙂

@Dave_1P I have the same problem either since the last version or since last month. Please read towards the end, I do know why it's not working for me, and that there probably is a bug at least in the web app.
- BUG: I cannot update the icons for my items on the web app, at all. In other words, the icon isn't clickable and not editable in edit mode. If I inspect elements, I can't see anything that would indicate there's an edit option for the icon, but the input for the title text oddly has the accessibilitylabel of "Modify the icon for this item" which doesn't seem correct for the title text field.
- For the desktop app, I can click the icon and change it, but it doesn't upload or save. That is by observation, it might be saving, but I haven't tried to investigate further with Wireshark.
- For the mobile app (iOS), it works, but here's the interesting bit: If I upload a new image for an item in 1Password for iOS the other apps (desktop, web) have events that kick-off, but it fails to fetch. That's a clue, my phone is not behind the corporate proxy (Zscaler).
So there is at least 1 bug that doesn't allow us to edit item icons in the web app.
As for my issues, it's Zscaler. Your domain is probably mislabeled as Internet Services, so that's one reason it's blocked. Also, Zscaler doesn't like that the file trying to download is an "unk" file extension so it blocks because it would be an "undetectable file" due to the weird file extension. Zscaler is widely used.
You've probably had this problem for several years now. Since I know what the issue is, I've been able to find other posts in the community that go back to 2020. If 1Password's goal is to be more on the personal software side, I could understand why you might not want to work with Zscaler.

I'm sorry that custom icons aren't working correctly in a number of places on your devices. First things first: we're rolling out a new web app which more closely resembles the design and user experience of the desktop and mobile apps. At the moment, support for custom icons isn't available in this new web app and I've let the team know that you'd like to see it be added.

I know that we have customers who use Zscaler and I'd like to dig into this deeper. As a start, can you make sure that the following ports and domains are allowed through your Zscaler implementation and any other firewalls or security appliances that you might be using: 1Password ports and domains

Is this a warning that you only see just when you try to access that URL in the browser directly? Or are you seeing similar errors in Zscaler logs from the 1Password client apps attempt to connect?

@Dave_1P It is a warning, but that’s actually not a warning most people will see since it’s a URL the web app utilizes, the app will just error (in the console). I had to watch the network traffic to discover why the icon wouldn’t update, navigate to the URL with the response error manually, then I encounter the Zscaler page. From there I can allow it and see the icon update. Keep in mind, most people would just not see the icon update, since I had to dig into the problem in a more technical manner.

Thank you for the reply. So that the team and I can investigate this further, please reproduce the issue using the 1Password for Windows desktop app one more time and then I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Windows PC:
