Bug report: Deauthorizing and reauthorizing iOS device causes extension to fail to load

To reproduce this bug:

  1. Have an iOS device with 1Password and the 1Password Safari extension installed
  2. Deauthorize that device from another computer
  3. Reauthorize it locally by logging into your 1Password account
  4. Open Safari and select the 1Password extension from the extensions menu

The extension will fail to open at all. The only fix is to disable the extension completely, force-quit Safari, and then reenable the extension. A minor inconvenience, but a bug nonetheless.

1Password Version: 8.10.38
Extension Version: 2.26.1
OS Version: iOS 17.6.1
Browser: Safari

  • Hello @RISCfuture! 👋

I'm sorry that 1Password for Safari stopped working after adding your account back to 1Password for iOS. I've tried to reproduce the issue here on my end but haven't been able to. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:

    1. Did you confirm that 1Password for Safari was working right before you deauthorized 1Password for iOS?
    2. Are you able to reproduce the issue again?

I look forward to hearing from you.
