  • Hello @LuisDela! 👋

I'm sorry that you're seeing an unexpected page appear in Safari. Can you tell me if you still see that page? Does it open randomly when you open Safari? Or does it appear after you do something specifically within 1Password for Safari or the 1Password for iOS app?

If you navigate to a different webpage and then tap on the puzzle piece icon in the address bar and then on 1Password in the menu that appears, are you able to open and unlock 1Password for Safari?

    Hi Dave,
The page opens up randomly when I launch Safari on my phone only. Im not aware that Safari on the iPhone has a puzzle piece in the address bar. To me this looks like 1password is asking me to install an add on or something. My question is why since I use the app on my phone.
    Thank you.

Thank you for those details. So that I can investigate this further, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your iOS device:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (iOS)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

    Please send the entire file.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

    Hi Dave,
Diagnostics of my iphone? Im getting the random welcome messages from your company in my browser. I think you should investigate this with apple cause it started with me updating to ios to 18. I suggest you reproduce the issue on one of you company phones and solve the problem that way.
    Many thanks.

  • @LuisDela

Thanks for the reply. I haven't been able to reproduce the issue on my end. A diagnostics report from 1Password on your iPhone will tell me more about what's happening and why 1Password for Safari is randomly opening that web page on your device.

Alternatively, and I know that you said that the message appears randomly, if you can provide any more specific reproduction steps that could help me to reproduce the issue then that would help as well. In addition can you tell me the following:

    1. What version of 1Password are you using: Find the version numbers for 1Password and your operating system
    2. Are you able to open and unlock the 1Password app from your home screen?
    3. Are you able to open and unlock 1Password for Safari from address bar by navigating to a webpage, tapping on the following icon, and then tapping 1Password:

I look forward to hearing from you.

Also find attached the version od 1password im currently running.
    Thank you.

    Hi again,
I just wanted to let you know that the message keeps coming up. I feel this is intrusive advertising from your side. Almost every time I open Safari browser or a new tab the message pops up.
And please notice the difference between the two pop up messages.

  • @LuisDela

I'm still unable to reproduce the issue on my end. Can you try the following:

    1. Fully close Safari on iOS.
    2. Fully close 1Password on iOS.
    3. Open and unlock the main 1Password app from your home screen.
    4. Open Safari and go to any webpage.
    5. Tap on the page settings icon in the address bar (see below)
    6. Tap on 1Password in the menu.
    7. Follow the prompt to unlock 1Password for Safari.

The page settings icon looks like this:

Let me know if you still see the issue once you've done this.
