Time to sync Logins from Browser Extension to the Windows App is very long

Hi, when I am creating a new login using the browser extension, it takes several minutes until I can find this new login inside the Windows App. It seems both apps are storing the data differently. Is there a way to force a synchronization for the Windows App?

I have the same issue. When I create a new login in the browser (Chrome) extension, it never appears in the Windows app.

"Connect with 1Password in the browser" is on

    1Password browser extension version 8.10.56.28
    OS Version: Windows 11 Home
    Browser: Chrome

  • Hello @torsten67 and @dudley! 👋

I'm sorry that you're not seeing new items created using 1Password in the browser in the 1Password for Windows app. So that I can better understand the situation, the next time that you can't see the item in the 1Password for Windows app, can you tell me if you can see the new item when you log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app)?

And, if you manually lock and then unlock the 1Password app then do you see the new item appear in the app?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Dave, if I manually lock the windows app and then unlock it, I am going to see the new item immediately. So it seems this is a matter of syncing. from what I know, there is no command to start a sync manually, right? That could solve the problem.

Thanks for the reply. The 1Password app deliberately doesn't include a button for sync since items created in 1Password on one device should show up immediately on all of your other devices. I'd like to investigate further why this isn't happening on your device.

The next time that you don't see a new item in the 1Password for Windows desktop app, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Windows PC:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Windows)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

    With your email please include:

    Please send the entire file.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

    Hello Dave,

It just happened to me again (actually I think it happens every time now). Changed a password in Chrome extension and even after 30 min later it is not in the Windows 1Password app.

Per your message, I sent you the diagnostics file that the app generated. I included your name torsten67 in the subject of the email. I have not received any supportID number yet.
